Dan Bowl acquired bowlplex which i think was the 3/4th player in the uk, teg took one of there sites blackburn i think, so consoldation is occuring. Teg director need 22.19p eps for end of dec 19 for 740k new free shares + total shareholder return so think there a bit more in teg for a year or so. I think I read like/like would be easier in the winter months this time.

I agree - but private equity listing two bowling plays near around the same time having only picked them up not that long ago

Remember, this year's easier L4L comps are next year's harder L4Ls.

Dan agree with you about being sceptical, but the big insutional investors have had time to do there research here. If Teg put out a statement similar to bowl in jan saying h2 revenue was +10% v last year this will move far higher. Think market is already know this and is rerating. Seems to be 1 million shares of the 17m sold not accounted for. Noone want to know teg when it listed because they got in market leader bowl first.

Rolo i'd just be pretty sceptical here is all. This was Essenden not that long ago, and short PE turnarounds like this are normally ones to be wary of.

Certainly not saying this is a rotten egg, but think that PE timed this perfectly. Fundamentally, that low PE multiple this listed on should raise eyebrows

The PE sold early within the year lock out because instutions wanted shares and the possible 9p divi also. The institutions went for bowl now in here as they know how bowl are doing. World cup might be early kick offs, lots of time zones in russia, june and july warm months here not like august school hoildays nowdays.

I get the feeling that private equity are listing this at the perfect time - when like 4 likes are good, and when they knew they would continue to be good for, say, another 6 months.

Problem being that I think they've listed in the sweet spot. There is a reason why this only re-floated at this price (institutions clearly were not happy enough to mop up at a higher multiple).

Think the divi here is being used as a lure, like it has been in a number of other floats. Headwinds such as the world cup next year.

Bowl can't buy this competition commission concerns if that applys to this type of business. There's enough independents to take over for bowl and teg. At some point refurbs will stop then £££;££

I was a bit discouraged by Bowl looking to start a dividend... rather than puttin it towards buying this!

Not really look at bowl ts this morning they did same months ago biggest shareholder selling. Teg is cheap, big institutions on board now.

running the number heres: +0.4% like for like 26 weeks to july 2nd, now like for like has increase to +3.6% for 36 week. I make that nearly a +12% like for like increase between july 2nd and 10th sept?

Up again clear breakout 9p divi by this time next year, like for like with possible double digit growth in a few weeks in h2. Little free float guess holders will sell a few to inst in months to come once lockdown has passed.

Agree dan, think teg are cheaper with room for improvement, seems to be about getting families through the door. Little divi tomorrow? as only listed recently, hope these and bowl are not value traps, staycations next few years heres hoping.

Results will definitely be interesting here for sure. Looks like they will be paying out a 6%+ yield at current levels, which is interestingly high given that Essenden was only delisted a couple of years back

Quite a few IPOs are putting out big dividends as the hook, but not always sure whether that's a good hook or a trap! In terms of professionalism, I rate BOWL higher than this; comes across as a more quality outfit and providing a better customer offer - most Tenpins I've been to come across as a basic offering in comparison, though at a very good price point

Weather was quite wet in certain areas this summer great for kids hoilday, it was hotter in june early july, when kids are at school. Teg results to end june 13th sept and we know that bowl are generating lots of cash and maybe a higher dividend that expected from there interim results.

This and BOWL are interesting, but put off by the weather over the summer and the expected weather for September - it's the sort that dent L4Ls (often muggy, dry, sunny). Checked against historic weather patterns and this year has been surprisingly dry to date.

Also aware that the World cup next year will probably get cited again as being a L4L headwind - relatively decent time zones with Russia might be disruptive to leisure industry (ex. pubs)
