All will depend on PG who is no fool and very wealthy. He seldom leaves SWeden now but keeps his finger on the pulse where he has placed his bets. M f will have had his ears burnt today!!!! PG can afford to write this one off. US shale will compensate. TEG's future depends on PG.

Oddly enough Waterloo01 I was also thinking Shanks should have a look and pick up some assets.

Indeed, hindsight. Trying to find a few positives amongst the wreckage. Manchester seems close to a resolution and the other assets performing well. Given the cash needed as a going concern (which might be relieved if they get the retentions), I would have thought the best value might be a fire sale of the profitable assets to a Shanks et al who like this sort of thing. Might it raise £10m and might shareholders see a return or is this a massive dilution coming, forgetting about them and a lesson learnt?

Feel stupid as should have twigged that there was something bad when the results were not announced first thing on the last day they had to make the announcement-always a red flag which I did not pick up and thus did not sell

Shanks results out and a profit warning because of solid waste business in benelux, however

"Organics has had a good first half year. The successful renewal of a long-term contract with five municipalities in Flevoland has underpinned the future of the Biocel dry anaerobic digestion ("AD") facility. We are going to expand capacity at our Cumbernauld AD facility in Scotland to meet strong local demand. We are also ramping up volumes in our London, Ontario, facility and our bidding activities on two growth opportunities in Canada are proceeding well. Overall, the division is performing as expected."

So a positive for TEG sector

One gets the feeling that unless they secure one or two or big projects or new clients, they'll need to go back to shareholders for more funding by the end of the year... They're clearly not cash flow positive yet.

Cerrito - thanks for an excellent post. As a long term holder I am a bit cynical/ pessimistic about TEG but hope one day to be surprised on the upside. It's a shame that a good environmental company cannot be flying in the current circumstances

Spaceparallax-I have reduced but not got out
Still disconcerted by their wording in the RNS on the Manchester retentions, reminded myself of the extent of the issue
As at 31.12.13, they had £3.7m of which just under £2m were overdue; I note they made no provision for this. I guess when in late September they issue the interims we will be focusing on the amount of retention monies(let's hope they give us the info) and also whether they have deemed it prudent to take a provision against these amounts.
Sobering to remember that the amount of loan repayable next March is £2.6m and that last year their operating cash flow deficit was £3.6m(£1m in H1 and £2.6m in H2)
Look forward to being told I am being too pessimistic
On Perth I was interested to read the report of an Albion VCT in which I am a shareholder-AAVC- and who modestly revalued their holding in Perth in the half year to March 14, despite the fact that TEG Perth made a loss last year. I was interested to see that TEG have their investment in TEG Perth at Nil Value.
Going through the TEG annual report good to see that in 2013 there was o need to make an impairment in the amount of Goodwill.

cerrito - reference your retentions - 'some' is more than 'one' and better than 'none'. There's a poem there I think

For me one piece of good news - operating ahead of budget- and two pieces of bad news.
Can for now live with one-the Gaydon delay-but I was most disconcerted about what they wrote on the retentions:
quote
and it is anticipated that the release of some retentions will commence in due course.
unquote
That sounds very negative to me: some retentions-ie no use of the word most- will commence in due course- what on earth does that mean in terms of timing? Does not sound like anything will be happening soon.
Sent alarm bells ringing for me-let's hope that their lawyer who goes through this is very risk adverse.

I find the update useful. Yes, the Gaydon delay is frustrating but they're doubtless doing their best. On GMA, this is the first time that we've heard a positive statement and given the recent history there I doubt they'd risk making positive noises if they didn't feel confident to deliver.

Overall, a more positive outlook and the mkt appears to read it that way.

A bit annoying that the reasons for the retention/delays are not spelled out in the RNS, so you have to speculate based on what's published on the BB's (ie steel works)
