New homes 'crumbling due to weak mortar'

Unfortunately, the quality of a house is only as good as the quality of those building it.
This is what happens when there is more emphasis on 'increasing profit' rather than increasing quality.

More of this will unfold imo...

The NHBC are not equipped to police the construction industry effectively enough from poor workmanship.

Why don’t you ask your directors why they build sub standard homes.?

Those over 50 will remember the timber frame issue that caused Housebuilders to crash.

Might want also to ask your directors about gagging orders.

That stink.

Instead of being a greedy shareholder, going for a 13% yield, might like to spare a thought for your customers .

@jonwig

"Why do we post here? To help each other make money, or insist on being right?"

Spot on, although these days many use it as an opportunity for one-upmanship, blatant peddling of lies in an affect to influence sentiment or general rudeness when not everyone agrees with their stance on a particular stock

Sign of the times.

Still would be tempted to buy more of this if I didn't already have too many percentage wise. Plus I am trying to keep some cash back just in case of market armageddon. Nice to have a plus day though!

"No post here has the slightest impact on a UKX stock, so if that's the case
they are completely waisting their time."

So, anyone choosing to engage with them would also be wasting their time...right!?

No post here has the slightest impact on a UKX stock, so if that's the case
they are completely wasting their time.

We know there will be another downturn, that's not revelatory.
The sector is cyclical, however there are longer term supportive factors.

Sector margins a key area of interest in 2019 imv.

They go as quickly as they come.I suspect posters like spoon are connected to backstreet boiler proprietary books that have taken out a short position. They bang on with negative comment until the book closes their position. The proprietary book may well have closed their position today contributing to the uptick.I question whether such behaviour has much affect.

TaylorW. would qualify for the large cap,big yield list if special dividends were included.

With investment, the top down approach ,ordinarily employed by fund managers, says you have to get the market right, then the sector and then the company.Private clients usually approach investment in quite the opposite manner, the bottom up approach. That’s the dichotomy of having the likes of spoon banging on about how TW. is about to crash when what he’s really saying is that the company will suffer in a general market/sector maelstrom. The Jugears argument is that the company is well managed and good long term value come what may. Both cases have validity.
