More of the same from Bovis "Market fundamentals remain strong. We continue to see good levels of demand for new homes across all our operating regions with underlying pricing remaining firm."

But that’s no different from any other company. And besides TW now has the highest sustainable yield of any FTSE100 company at near 9.5%. Personally I’d only worry about trading activity between dividends when the yield is sub 8% and not before.

As pointed out by others the power of compounding dividends at this scale is too great and only encouraging more shares to be locked up by long term holders. So I’m happy for the shares to remain around these levels because including the imminent special dividend, reinvesting should deliver me a 65% compound return over 5 years

I've been in and out of TW dozens of times since 2008 sometimes taking the dividend and at other times selling before ex divi date because there appears to me, to be a huge Trading sector that "works" TW's share price between dividends.

" Barring any unforeseen circumstances" now there's a thing. Of course not forgetting a very possible and not unforeseen change of government. Too much happening to this country in the next few years to get over excited about possibilities here.

this a good post from lse www good read

Taylor Wimpey is on track to pay shareholders 18.3p a year for the next five years barring any unforeseen circumstances. This equates to a total dividend income of 91.5p to which we must add another 10.5p for the special being paid at the end of the month. This takes the cash total haul for shareholders to 102p over five years.

But the interesting thing is that despite these monster dividend payments which have been going on for a couole of years now the company is still dramatically improving its tangible book value. From what I understood this rose by 7.1p a share or by 8% last year despite paying out 11.5p of dividends - this being the 2016 special of 9.2p and the 2017 interim of 2.3p.

So at the risk of a newly converted bull boring all you long term shareholders with what you already know, I just wish to make the point that at 202p you are effectively buying this share today at a forward discount to tangible assets five years out; I.e., you are getting 102p or dividends, and a book value of 95.7p which will probably expand by 5p to 7p a year even after normal and special dividend payments.
