Exactly doyden the impact on earnings per share would be huge and I for one would rather pay capital gains tax than dividend income tax.But then I guess we all have the option to reinvest income and the benefits of compounding 10% returns a year over five years are considerable

GerdMuller, I'd be happy with £4 too but there were significantly less shares in circulation when it last reached those lofty heights. I can therefore only agree with Raffles. I would like to see TW consider a reduction in the special divided to launch a buyback program, especially as the normal dividend is now increasing.

It's a real shame given the low valuation of this company management is not desirous of reducing the share count rather than continuing to pay special dividends

Last time this one broke above the 210p level was 2003. When Donny Osmond topped the charts and the Reliant Robin was first seen on the streets of the UK. All before my time of course and a very long long time ago.

Not long after it was £5 before something very strange seemed to happen in 2008. I'll be happy with £4 though.

I spent a little while searching for TW. as an investment. Being selfish I'd like to stay below 2 before May 31. Unfortunately after today's news I don't think that will materialise. If I had more cash Id invest more pre May 31 and pre 2 pounds. Lesson learnt hold more cash in account. I'll try and flip my cna shares (short term gain) into TW before the 31st.Good bye 2 pounds. Good and bad news!

Boom. I love this investing thing. Find a good company. Buy, hold, reinvest, retire.

As far as I'm concerned if the five year dividend income has just gone up 20% the shares should also go up 20%

The whole RNS reads well, acid test is whether it adds anything to the share price

New dividend proposal looks excellent - 20% increase in the pot announced to £600m a year for next five years - that's a 10% annual yield

I pondered the same question tlobs2.

To add impetus there is also , last line of 26/4/18 trading statement was:
----------------

We will be hosting a Capital Markets Day on 15 May 2018, where we will update the market on our views of the housing market and our plans for continuous business improvement and shareholder returns.

-----------------
So.. tomorrow.
though continued good news in property sector currently seems to get a flat market re-action, though not too fussed as a LTH.
I'm aware of div hunters, but don't watch too closely as yet to be convinced they win when you factor a 50:50 hit rate on cap gain, then there is dealing costs(small) and stamp duty.

If this is the best it can do on good market days, it's going to need help from a much higher source on a bad day !

tbh I can't see this being above 200p by ex divi but I hold enough to hope you're right about 208p.
Good luck
