05/2/2021 09:34 | Icarus, buying any share now will reap huge rewards long term,I rrecentley bought RR as I see this as a good long term solid investment | jugears
05/2/2021 09:18 | gbh2... bit of a segue, whats your thoughts on Rolls Royce at the moment or have you not been looking. £1 entry looks reasonable now there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel. | 1carus
04/2/2021 21:36 | I've been on advfn threads for years and understand why folk comment, follow & support an investment that are makes them money and they feel good about. What I'll never understand is why losers will troll an investment they're neither invested or even interested in investing, because they'll never convince someone that's making money that they're doing something wrong and only a rank idiot would think that constant negativity would drive down the share price | gbh2
04/2/2021 21:24 | Imatsu, it doesn't matter what other people say or think at the end of the day you either think Tw are a good share to be in or you don't, I personally think Tw have excellent long term potential, I also know that I will make substantially more money here than say some one like sikh who has in my opinion long missed the boat, Strong demand for to few houses & low interest rates for at least the next 10 years, need I say anymore ?????!!!!! | jugears
04/2/2021 17:19 | Barratt also stated Stamp Duty hol and Help to Buy contributed to housing demand... Also the dependence of housing market on Help to Buy. As expected. Stamp Duty hol ends 31st March, less than 2 months Help to Buy for 2nd homes ends 31st March, less than 2 months. New Help to Buy less favourable. Budget next month. From BDEV results: " This growth reflected underlying market strength, pent up demand following the initial national lockdown and also demand resulting from the stamp duty holiday and the March 2021 end of Help to Buy for existing homeowners." "Whilst the lending environment is broadly positive, with some signs of increased competition since the start of December, there remains an absence of mortgage lending at higher LTV levels from many of the mainstream lenders, particularly for home buyers unable to access Help to Buy." "The health of the housing market, and housebuilders' ability to build homes to meet demand relies on a strong and competitive mortgage market with a wide range of affordable and accessible mortgage options for home buyers. Absent an increase in LTV levels, Help To Buy is likely to become the only way into home ownership for many first time buyers." | sikhthetech
04/2/2021 14:20 | I love this market, as long as the reason for it p*sses off in time for my summer holidays :) | gbh2
04/2/2021 14:14 | True - was just following progress after yesterday's results when that little gem turned up. Haven't held since 2018, when I was range trading that too. Haven't got round to seeing what upset was caused on this Tremor thing - indeed have never heard of it. But nice to see what I thought was only our bundle of fun spreading his engaging personality around the site, isn't it? | imastu pidgitaswell
04/2/2021 13:08 | I dumped GSK as soon as the RNS came out, I see no sense in being in something once my interest is shaken, simply time to move on :) Only an idiot would continue holding and whining about company they no longer believed would achieve the outcome they wanted, see above :)) | gbh2
04/2/2021 12:57 | Imastu "Anyway, it's all about the future " Good to see you agree with me now... ;-) As I've previously said, dividend/covid/brexi Budget, house prices, Help to Buy, Stamp Duty hol, number of buyers cancelling the important points going forward. Oh and the ongoing CMA investigation into leasehold scandal. Lots of important sector newsflow next month. ;-) | sikhthetech
04/2/2021 12:32 | and in particular 24331 :-) | imastu pidgitaswell
04/2/2021 12:30 | There's still some good dividend payers out there but the costs of chasing them can be high. As for TW, back to struggling with 160p. | gbh2
04/2/2021 12:30 | dividends haven't made any difference to other HBs. The share price rose when the divi was announced and then fell back, a day or so later. Sales rose on the back of Stamp Duty hol and Help to buy. More important is what is happening with govn schemes, Stamp Duty hol and Help to Buy and unemployment, furlough ends in April. The budget next month is the next major hurdle. Stamp Duty hol and Help to Buy for 2nd homes ends 31st March. | sikhthetech
04/2/2021 11:46 | I would think funds must be struggling to find strong companies to put their money into and receive a decent return, in view of the chinese plague hitting so many sectors at this momement in time. If tw project half decent dividends we could be favorable imo. | martyn9
04/2/2021 09:16 | Yep 2nd March we'll know whether we're in the money or in the proverbial :) | gbh2
04/2/2021 08:33 | FY results/statement 2nd March 2021, is that correct? Reinstatement of the dividend would be good. | billy5
04/2/2021 08:28 | I don't doubt the future is important but we need income return to attract the Funds and they are the drivers of quality shares. | gbh2
04/2/2021 08:20 | Those are pretty impressive, aren't they? Interesting accident of timing of when the year end occurs - BDEV will only report with the 6 months to June 2020 as comparatives from now on - so they will look better when they report their full year against poor comparatives. TW.'s results for 2020 obviously won't be good, including the half year to 30 June as they will - which the BDEV ones just published don't. Pity we don't publish 'H2 vs H2 prior year' - although it could be worked out. Anyway, it's all about the future - TW.'s current guidance (I think, extrapolated from the November 9 trading statement) is for profit after tax of c£500m for 2021. Market cap of £5.8bn, so just under 12 times 2021 earnings. | imastu pidgitaswell
04/2/2021 08:03 | Barratt looking ok, resumed dividend but interim about 20% down on previous year full year. | gbh2
02/2/2021 13:45 | hello sikh, didn't the stamp duty holiday start in july. Between july and novmbr.the share price was falling. in nov. vaccine news caused the lift in share price i expect. | owencoffin
02/2/2021 13:18 | House prices fell in Jan, as we get closer to 31st March, end of Stamp Duty hol..as expected... ;-) UK house prices fall for first time since start of stamp duty holiday Chancellor has indicated he is unlikely to extend tax break after it expires at the end of March "UK house prices fell month-on-month in January for the first time since the introduction of a stamp duty holiday, according to the Nationwide Building Society, suggesting the mini property market boom might be over as the end of the tax break approaches." | sikhthetech
02/2/2021 10:50 | Personally i take broker targets with a shovel full of salt. | martyn9
02/2/2021 09:52 | CREDIT SUISSE RAISES TAYLOR WIMPEY TARGET TO 205 (164) PENCE - 'OUTPERFORM' | libertine
01/2/2021 09:39 | Thanks you for your sage advice, sigh. I took some of the 20% gains (today) on FRES and put them here (and elsewhere). We'll see. | imastu pidgitaswell |
