19/10/2011 08:38 | Topped up my shareholding - now up to 0.3% of the company for those interested. If the co would like to buy these back from me at 140p .... | 18bt
19/10/2011 08:21 | Reread the statement. About the fifth line: flagging potential for more buybacks.....if was cheap at 140p.....cheaper at 80p....... | graham1ty
19/10/2011 08:15 | alun, that was all flagged in the trading statement. Yes, was expected. These could have been much WORSE, so overall, very happy. The Board is showing initiative and new ranges/parts etc are showing real progress. This is not a super profitble, growth company. It is a continuosly profitable, cash generative company and 4x eps more than compensates for some ex-holders negatives | graham1ty
19/10/2011 08:07 | >Those results are fine. No surprises... "Board anticipates full year results to be at lower end of the range of market expectations" Did you expect that? I sold as soon as Burgess sold at 131p. The board are complacent without the real threat of being turfed out. Alun | alunmorris
19/10/2011 07:59 | Enviro.......one buyer, yes, stays where we are. One seller.....fear down..... | graham1ty
19/10/2011 07:49 | Will it be enough to sustain the shareprice at the present level though ? Given the stingy yield, well hmmm | envirovision
19/10/2011 07:46 | Those are great. Barnstorming result from bikes ( I take back my comment, Steve). Leisure/toys we were told were dependent on takeup from retailers which was proving slow: so no suprises there. Slightly cautious divi imho, but in returning money to shareholders ( well, Andrew) they did their bit earlier in the year. Those results are fine. No suprises and good news from dawes, CB, parts its and lots of new licenses in place for the rest of the year. Even on eps of say 17-18p this is on just over 4 times ....... The whole statment has a different feel. Less sucking in of teeth than usually and contain new initiatives and good news. Well done Steve. | graham1ty
19/10/2011 07:38 | Did well to hold EPS at roughly same level as last year - that's the power of the buybacks. Profitability held up on the back of quite steep turnover decline - changes to supply arrangements, which have come not before time. On the whole, not nearly as bad as I had feared. Also some evidence of more disclsoure in the interim statement as well. NAV now 168p per share. Mcap £3.9m with cash still in the bank. No meltdown in profits. Some prospect of stability at least next year and possibly an Olympic filip. Worrying increase in trade receivables has led to a cashoutflow. Why is this not commented on? When retailers are going bust all over the place, is this not a big risk? | 18bt
19/10/2011 07:31 | 2562 blown out the water nicely "currency costs are increasing" and suggestng that if the exchange rate stayed the same, TND would be in a loss-making position. Compared with facts "More favourable currency rates and shipping costs helped to improve gross margin...." and "a large percentage of turnover in the sports, leisure and toys business is conducted in US dollars..." Now I'd suggest if one is to come on here and trash a share whilst having a pop at existing holders, then at least try to get one's facts 100% watertight and correct. I'm not a holder, but an interested watcher / ex-holder. | bozzy_s
14/10/2011 17:21 | David, is yr strddr email the one to use ? S | graham1ty
14/10/2011 13:41 | Brief write up in todays Growth Company Investor as potential beneficiary of the Olympics..... wait and see. | graham1ty
14/10/2011 08:25 | tiger at 155/ you have a disclosable interest in the company i would suggest you contact the company to issue an rns the issue here is not the results but the outlook statement and i expect that to be weak | neverforget
13/10/2011 18:01 | e MAIL VIA TMF?? Can you e mail me direct quoting TANDEM to many thanks | castleford tiger
11/10/2011 18:57 | Castleford Tiger....If you are a serious investor here then you need to email me via TMF and I will keep you in touch with presentations to investors etc..I have attended the recent Agms and there are quite a few of us who have done so. The BoD do not have significant holdings and there is no reason to delist so shareholders would not vote for it. | davidosh
11/10/2011 18:33 | Never forget. I am sorry that you feel i miss-led you. i was answering the question and that was my direct holding was 105k. I have just under 50k in a nominee account if you want to check ,please be my guest.I will send you their number. I am concerned that the BOD are not pushing the company enough. Shareholders are a annoyance to them. They are not moving with Brokerlink, even though they have the only numbers out there on them. I did not buy yesterday because 1) The market would only buy 1000 at 90p to sell 10k it was 80p !! To buy 10k they wanted 99p. That is not a fair or proper market. The company is too small for the market and i can see this going private at a very low premium to current price. The BOD would be in on it just like TFC. I am going to write to the company and will attend AGM in future etc. Any presentations please let me have them Tiger | castleford tiger
11/10/2011 18:23 | The company do partially hedge their dollar exposure and some sales are overseas or direct to the customer in dollars so I do not think they are quite as exposed as you think. The dividend was covered six times over last year and there is no bank breathing down their necks ! It should continue to increase and will help in realising value for shareholders. There have been changes on the Board so it is not quite the situation that prevailed before re Remuneration and Steve Grant has a good reputation in the industry so lets see if he can deliver. If you have thoughts on better guys for the job then I suggest you email me. I am not keen to disect the company further on here as competitors and employees will clearly be at liberty to read this and I am a responsible stakeholder. | davidosh
11/10/2011 17:50 | Neverforget...I think you will find the directors did buy stock when greengiant sold. SG and JS bought 36k and 20k at £1.40 so not insignificant purchases and at almost 60% higher prices than currently. If you read back through the posts here I think you will also find that I have done much more than just 'huffing and puffing' as you call it. The NAV here is much higher than the share price and this is a steady profitable company paying nearly 4% dividend yield. Next year is 2012 and they have 'olympic' potential to increase sales in what will probably be the most successful GB sport. We shall see where the share price goes from here. | davidosh
11/10/2011 16:32 | did you read the bear points? why would i want to buy any shares here? i have nothing positive to say about the company at all. what i cant stand is people all huffing and puffing about it and doing nothing either do something or get out. this company will die ever so slowly in the meantime directors will not care about anything other than there paychecks if they were so concerned why not buy some shares. the market works with buyers and sellers where are the buyers? still no bull points | neverforget
11/10/2011 16:08 | Why not buy a few shares and show me how you propose to rally the shareholders to make some changes here ? Presumably you have some positive ideas and a new management team at the ready ? | davidosh
11/10/2011 15:55 | thought the nme of the game was to make money? it is the directors that you should be targeting why havent they delivered any value? why do they still have a job if they are performing so badly? are you saying thst shareholders can do nothing? if so roll over. no bull case thought not | neverforget
11/10/2011 15:20 | neverforget...What do you propose shareholders do ? When greengiant bought all the loose stock last year he passed it to the company and the directors. When you say shareholders are toothless one could argue that greengiant sharpened his to great effect ! I am a long term holder and there are quite a few of us. However those who play this short term do us no favours ! | davidosh
11/10/2011 15:10 | i will explain myself here not going to bother going ff line. here is the bear case for this share. * declining revenues you can only continue to cut costs so far after that level has been reached you begin to die * terrible management no revenue growth no profit growth failed strategies and acquisitions yet high salaries * uses company cash to buy shares back have no better of cash? * rising freight costs to come through * weak high street * stronger $ * rising steel costs up $100 per tonne this year * management team has no regard for shareholders and current shareholders toothless no forecasts no investor presentation nothing care to put the bull case | neverforget
11/10/2011 08:12 | neverforget.....Can you not see why long termers here like Graham1TY and I would see you as a hypocrite and troll ? You do not have a holding in Tandem and claim you are not interested in the company but for some reason you come here having sold no doubt at a much higher level than the current share price to annoy long term holders with comments about their holdings ?? Makes no sense and if you want to explain yourself then just email me. | davidosh
11/10/2011 07:21 | not interested in tandem had 25/ shares at one point but sold out and judging the graph glad i did very poor management who hare here for there salaries and that is it what valuehave they added | neverforget |
