AGM 18th May I believe, with trading update usually. Hope it can spark some life into the share price.

All directors at CTO are required to hold a minimum of 2k shares. Trevor the FD is an interim appointment while they recruit after the departure of the last FD and I would have assumed he would not be required to hold the requisite 2k shares.

It would be my interpretation therefore that based on this purchase and his inclusion in the share option scheme that CTO are lining up to offer him the job. If I wanted to guess a little further I'd say it would be timely to announce this at the AGM next week.

Another raft of sells going through today for reasons that escape me. Sector is doing fine and Kier is currently up 2.8% for example.

Yes fair enough, I meant falling as in more of a very short term sense. I was in for the XD but expected to see a sudden drop followed by a slow recovery without these drops, but then again I know it's never just straight up or down! I've never held during an XD before so it's all new to me.

Thanks very much, appreciate the advice.

Thanks Squarepegs. CTO AGM is in two weeks time and there will be an announcement on the day as to their order book and their outlook on market expectations.

So, there will be few people either buying or selling before than dependent on their mood and their attitude to risk.

I'm not sure I agree the share price is falling. It went XD for 2.9p recently so the share price would be 81.9p on the bid ignoring that, which to me gives a slow uptrend on either a long term or short term basis. I agree it has been higher but not for sustained periods of time.

Anyways good luck and welcome to the CTO Board.

Thanks for your input CC2014. I'm relatively new to investing and have been lurking around in the background reading the forum for a while now, and I must say I have found lots of your previous post very useful so thanks. It's good to get an insight from people that certainly know a lot more than I do, with views that I wouldn't have even considered. I seemed to think that although big sells were coming in, at the price it's at now they would quickly be soaked up but I guess with patience they will. Like you say this is very frustrating, especially as it's nowhere near 90p and heading in the wrong direction.

Hi Squarepegs,

As someone kindly pointed out to me about 100 posts ago there's no point watching the trades on this stock as the if you believe in the trade it will turn out OK in the end.

Someone is clearly continuing to sell. I have two theories, not that it makes much difference.

The first is that it's Danny Robson, an ex-director of CTO who resigned around 2 years ago. At time he resigned he had 1.3m shares or 3% of the company and we know he sold 250k in one block at 90p about 2 years ago. We have no idea whether he has kept the rest, sold them all or is somewhere in-between but my guess is that having left CTO, he will be aiming to sell the lot. He can't go on forever and probably doesn't have that many left by now.

The second surrounds MIFID II. This has created a lot of churn in the market and I believe CTO has been affected more than most. Again it doesn't really matter as bit by bit I believe the share are moving to long term holders with a high level of commitment to holding. i.e. they aren't looking for a 10% return but a 100%+ return so once the share price starts rising it won't be held back by a plethora of sellers each time it moves up 5p. it's got to get through 90p first though which will be a barrier.

PS - I do find the trades very very frustrating as they never correlate with anything which again suggests to me the seller is driven by a requirement to sell. Today Kier is up 1.9%, MGNS up 1.5%, GFRD down 0.3%, so why on a day like today do you sell CTO? Death, divorce, need for monthly income all possible reasons.

My IT skills are non-existent. The moment I am asked to sign in for something my interest closes. Looks like a pretty irrelevant analytical site from the few glimpses I had.

It didn't work for me but if you search for simply wall street and cto and look for the article from yesterday there it is.

Someone continuing to sell shares though. A sale late yesterday and some more this morning going through at 79.15.

Nothing we can do until the seller(s) has finished.

Hopefully the statement at the AGM will make a difference. Last year I remember it rose about 10% on the day, followed by a year of drip drip selling.

Is the recent drop in line with expectations after the ex dividend? I didn't expect it to drop so low and stay there, I assumed the buys would flood in

Good afternoon,

I think the matter of the directors package is a difficult one. One first sight it appears generous and one might suggest they are being rewarded for an improvement from a low baseline. On the other hand the package is only available to 3 directors and other companies might well hand out lower levels of remuneration but to a far greater number of individuals.

I think it also needs to be put in context of construction is a very easy industry to get things wrong and the directors have steered the company through the recession coming out the other side in good financial health with a strong reputation in the industry. Throughout this time there has been a dividend stream and we should be clear the directors are investing in the future (Eton, Birmingham, off-site prefabrication) and have a strong focus on margin improvement and being selective around their client portfolio.

I think I'm probably ok with it, although concerned.
