24/1/2002 23:22 | RNS Number:4120Q Synstar PLC 23 January 2002 SYNSTAR PLC (the "Company") 23 January 2002 HOLDING IN COMPANY The Company today received notification from CVC Capital Partners ("CVC") that CVC and its direct and indirect advised interests (the "CVC Funds"), have a notifiable interest of 50,133,250 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company ("Shares"), representing approximately 30.85 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital. CVC's holding in the Company has been reduced by the sale of 5,000,000 Shares (representing approximately 9.07 per cent. of CVC's total holding). 24/1/2002 22:20 | Taken at face value the institutional demand and the desire to improve the liquidity of the stock can only be considered good. An illiquid stock - if that's what SYN truly is - is a good one to hold when the chart points north. Better if there is "institutional demand" waiting in the wings to hoover up your shares. The non-exec's sale is less of a turn on, however. BUT... As long as there are no warnings in the offing - like last year - I think these are looking attractive; I'm tempted to pick up more if it drops below 70p. | dull gull
24/1/2002 09:28 | this news item explains the big sale, but does the "institutional demand" make for good news or bad? 18/1/2002 22:17 | norcomm, Don't panic ! SYN has a great looking chart and IMHO a few more pence lower and a fresh buying opportunity will represent itself. If so, I'll buy and post the fact. Obviously if you agree and follow, it'll be on your own i.e. eventhough we're all over 21, shares are risky and....well you know what I mean ! Anyway all the best and have a great W/E ! Cheers, CTB. | citytraderboy
