Appointment of Non-Executive Director
Synthomer plc ('Synthomer' or 'the Company') today announces that it has appointed Cynthia Dubin as a Non-Executive Director. Cynthia will join the Board with immediate effect and become a member of the Audit Committee.
Cynthia has served in senior finance and business roles in the power, oil, gas and broader clean energy technology sector. She was Chief Financial Officer of JKX Oil & Gas plc and prior to that a co-founder and Chief Financial Officer of Canamens, a start-up oil and gas business. Cynthia began her career in the banking industry in New York specializing in advising and lending to large energy projects. In 1992, she relocated to London, and from 1993-2005 held positions with Edison Mission Energy, a premier US owned electric power generator that developed, acquired, financed, owned and operated reliable and efficient power systems for international markets. She became Vice President for the company's Europe, Middle East and Africa Operations in 1998.
Cynthia is a Non-Executive Director of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) where she is a member of and currently acts as Chair of the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee. She is on the board of Babcock and Wilcox Enterprises Inc where she is Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee and sits on the Governance Committee. In addition, Cynthia is an Independent Director of Hurco Companies, the NASDAQ listed technology automation business, where she is also a member of the Audit Committee
Cynthia has a Business Administration, Finance and Economics Degree from Georgetown University.
