Excellent business contract, press recommendation over the weekend, and a tasty looking chart trend. Synstar could do very well today and in the coming days/weeks I fancy

Nicely timed

New contract with ITNET worth £18m

Synstar, the pan-European business availability services provider has signed a
four-year deal worth £4.5m per annum with ITNET, the IT, business process and
e-services supplier.

ITNET has appointed Synstar as its preferred supplier of business continuity and
hardware services, to provide support for ITNET's customer sites throughout the
UK. The contract supercedes a previous framework agreement and commences
immediately.

Synstar has worked with ITNET for the past five years, providing a range of
services covering business continuity, computer services and project support. As
a result of the new deal, Synstar will be supporting additional blue-chip
companies that are ITNET's customers in both the public and private sectors.

With a large blue chip client base and new contracts with Ford and Bt, computer services group Synstar is far from on the wane. The Sunday Express cites the shares (74.5p) as a hold.

HOLDING IN COMPANY

The Company today received notification from CVC Capital Partners ("CVC") that
CVC and its direct and indirect advised interests (the "CVC Funds"), have a
notifiable interest of 50,133,250 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company

interested in 377,364 Shares representing approximately 0.23 per cent. of the
Company's issued ordinary share capital.

Taken at face value the institutional demand and the desire to improve the liquidity of the stock can only be considered good. An illiquid stock - if that's what SYN truly is - is a good one to hold when the chart points north. Better if there is "institutional demand" waiting in the wings to hoover up your shares.

The non-exec's sale is less of a turn on, however.

BUT...
As long as there are no warnings in the offing - like last year - I think these are looking attractive; I'm tempted to pick up more if it drops below 70p.

this news item explains the big sale, but does the "institutional demand" make for good news or bad?
