"You cannot buy now."

Rather fortunate in the circumstances, I'd say!

Problem is OXO technology

Many countries are now seeking to ban this sort of biodegradable plastic

As it fragments ... but then stays in the ecosystem for ages

nhs, I tend mainly to invest in life science start ups which tend to be risky. I can't recall how SYM originally came to my attention but I was sold on the solution to the problem. Now I have a different view which is that replacement will be the solution rather than enhanced biodegradation so I haven't explored other options in this space. More widely on the eco front, I started looking in to windows that generate solar energy (Polysolar on crowdcube) but haven't taken the plunge yet! if I had spare cash, I'd have some fun spreadbetting this...but I haven't so will watch from a safe distance!

What is it these DAYS.FAKE NEWS

I assume the BBC fully qualified the omission of any personal, commercial or political agenda that may, or may not, have been linked to the research and findings emanating out of Plymouth University. It also goes without saying that the BBC fully validated the robustness and quality of the research. Or did they? Maybe that would be stretching the boundaries of good investigative reporting a little too far.

Nothing new in this news outside of it being mainstream and adding fuel to those who sit on the cynical side of a divided fence with regard to the attribute claims made by those within the D2W industry.

For reference, I hold a tiny position in SYM and wouldn’t claim to know definitively who is right and wrong in this fairly lively debate. Surprised at the lack of response from the SYM board. Feels like a market overreaction this morning all the same.

Will bioplastic win so? If yes then Biom should benefit massively.

Thanks for the info Au good to hear it from someone with sound knowledge, are you aware of any other investable companies in this space? I'd like to get involved as it is huge and will grow, managed not to get stung by SYM thanks to due diligence carried out.

Disappointed there hasn't been any response by the directors so far. I only have a small speculative holding and not likely to get ncrease at this stage.

Neilrr history is repeating itself the hype is finally surfacing. This board should be looked into by the Stock Rxchange. As you quite rightly say the OPA is a wholly owned and run by Symphony. It was original address was at the home of Stephen which was public knowledge and in the public domain at the time.

To think I nearly bought back in on Monday, glad I didn't. Chemical regulation in Europe is entirely about political agendas and nothing to do with science. I've worked in this area for the last 20 years and seen the so-called "precautionary principle" in action. Its an effective means of destroying sectors of the chemical industry to meet the political will of the Commission. I have no agenda here. I invested in SYM many years ago and made a modest profit. However, unless they can provide convincing evidence for the safety of the breakdown products, they won't even have a voice in the debate. Even if they do have sound scientific evidence, it may not sway bigger political agendas. Somewhat ironically, at least the publicity will increase awareness of the technology and should SYM come out the other side then this may prove to have been a new beginning rather than the start of the end.

Someone could suggest that a rival channel do a follow up piece on shorting prior to the airing of the program last night.

Sold out this am at 17.5p. Notice SYM have attracted the shorters now - but the comfort for existing holders is that revenue mostly comes from outside the EU in any case so fundamentals are unaffected. The problem the company have now is that this will be like a sore - won't go away anytime soon as the EU continue to investigate and just adds uncertainty - which is the reason I sold.
