22/12/2010 08:40 | Soggy - i beleive they had to issue a policy in the companies securities by the 31st December to satisfy ASX rules. | larney
22/12/2010 07:33 | Well, what on earth is that RNS being published for? Perhaps it's just that they've been told they need to have a published policy on insider trading and close periods etc. and have just put it out to satisfy regulators, but it seems a strange thing to put in an RNS...unless there's a reason.... | soggy
19/12/2010 20:24 | soggy, I know the feeling and I find it difficult to be patiemt . I rarely seem to do well with spec or second line stocks and am tempted to cut my loss on SLV on any rally ! I should stick to trading blue chip miners such as XTA with CFDs where i do make money ! | arja
18/12/2010 09:21 | I have to say that this is one of my more frustrating shares! I was in it for years and finally gave up, selling at a substantial loss. A month or so ago it looked like they were coming to life again and so I bought back in. After all, the underlying story is so good, and they should be trading waaaay above these levels. However, for some reason, they're still just kicking their heels at the starting blocks...and we are all awaiting the starting pistol. "...transferring wealth from the patient to the impatient" as the saying goes. Note to self: just be patient, Soggy! | soggy
18/12/2010 09:03 | SLV is involved in a number of projects that will in due course pay off handsomely against a rising demand for platinum. Completion of the Lannex Tailings Dam in Q1, will lead to a large jump in production in 2011. | azalea
17/12/2010 19:14 | We should see some new year share recommendations from various tip sheets and newspapers and Investors chronicle / shares magazine and i wouldn't mind betting that SLV will get a mention somewhere!- The shares are clearly oversold at current levels and it only needs some buying to get them moving upwards again!--fingers and legs crossed we shall see some buying action in the early part of New Year guys!--LOL! | blueyes2
17/12/2010 09:46 | or move down as has now happened ! Tempted to cut my loss but nobody ever accused me if being decisive !! | arja
13/12/2010 08:40 | Last we heard from UBS was 6 Dec: The Company received notification on 6 December 2010 via ASX Form 604 of a change in the notifiable interest in the ordinary shares of the Company ('Ordinary Shares') that Ubs AG and its related bodies corporate now holds 19,495,649 ordinary shares representing approximately 6.46 per cent of the issued share capital. Might we see an overhang clear scenario in the not too distant future? | bones30
13/12/2010 08:39 | Interesting UBS going <3%. Perhaps we can move up now? | bones30
11/12/2010 20:16 | azalea, thanks for that . I bought at 54 foolishly but hoping to get my money back in time ! | arja
10/12/2010 17:23 | Anyone not excited about whata happening at SLV. Forget the share price that will come in time. Do you not realize how much cash we will meke this year? Sit back relax and enjoy. So much to look forward to. Id say by May Sp will be 75p. | abudhabitrader
10/12/2010 16:03 | slv going up in tanden again with jlp...2x 1.1m trades on jlp earlier...joined at the hip?.lol | stucom
10/12/2010 15:57 | Yes, SLV now owns 100% of SM. Yes, its painfully slow at the moment, but so much newsflow to come in 2011+. I am sticking with it. | azalea
10/12/2010 15:11 | azalea, can you tell me if Sylvania Metals is part of the SLV group please ? I assume so but rarely find time to study fundamentals ! I see the share price is edging up but painfully slowly . | arja
07/12/2010 07:31 | back in for me. 1 year weekly pennant coming to an end | chartsmart
06/12/2010 16:46 | just when I thought it was edging up ! what a pain it is holding this stock ! turbotrader - yes, hard to be in a stock where we are at the whims of MMs as hard to get an idea of market depth as one can with SETS stocks ( not blue chips of course ) . | arja
06/12/2010 14:05 | exactly my thoughts TT | mrpoisson
06/12/2010 11:24 | how can this be marked down on a 100k buy @ 48p????? | turbotrader2
06/12/2010 07:32 | Following 3 declarations of holding in the past 5 weeks - 2/11 Odey Asset Man -8.32%, 6/12 UBS AG 6.46%, and Africa Asia Capital 19.5%, if nothing else it brings some clarity to the hitherto mysteries of major holdings in SLV. To that end, I do not know whether these are mere declarations, or actual changes (up/down). That said, in the light of my previous post, I find Africa Asia Cap 19.5% holding, of significant interest. Holding tight. | azalea
04/12/2010 14:06 | A snippet in the D. Mail that made me look twice. "Johnson Matthey leapt 59p @ 1927p, after Liberum Capital lifted it target rice to £25 on the back of a Heavy Duty Diesel catalytic converter growth story. Whilst most PI here should already be aware of what is used in HDD catalytic converters, lest anyone should be in any doubt, it is of course Platinum!!! Now we know why a George Soros Hedge fund recently bought into PLG; see posts 3980 -1. In its 5/11 issue, the IC quoted analyst Adam Collins of Liberum Capital forecasting that by 2015 demand could rise by 20% for platinum - used not just in catalytic converters for family cars, but also "likely to be the principal metal used in emission technology servicing HDD markets". | azalea
02/12/2010 15:58 | With signs of recovery in global indices and the p.o.p. recovering strongly, the two could coincide with much better profits and production figures in 2011. | azalea
30/11/2010 22:10 | It needs a serious "try" but looks an interesting play, I'll need more as an average down to b/e but fancy there is a profitable get out. Hope so anyway! DC | daicaprice |
