Ah, I was reading - looks like the conference has thrown up all sorts of wonderful mind-bending and life-changing ingestives. Sorry, can't help but remain cynical until institutes and market forces say otherwise.

I was making those 35 years ago, read it properly, what we're looking at is far more sophisticated !

Pop a pill that swells with water and then causes a blockage which requires surgery to remove. Be interesting to see what NICE thinks. Currently on the side of surgery - well proven.

So the fatties will be popping pills or having balloons in their stomachs rather than having ops-is that the nub of it? Think most people would rather pop a pill than undergo surgery. Views?

I wonder if the news of the New Pill will have much of an effect on future sales of the equipment used for Gastric band operations.

Director buying at this level is part of their remuneration, small change to most of those involved.

VZ - anyone can have a SIPP or, indeed, an ISA if one is looking for a tax advantage somewhere. When people BUY shares, directors or non directors, they do it for one reason only, not for the good of the company - there is no relationship here between the buying of shares and the benefit or otherwise to the company, and that is to make a profit or to acquire an income from the dividends paid on those shares (not the case here I hasten to add).

The fact the directors are buying shares is surely a signal to the rest of the world that the future prospects of the company are good.

In reference to bj's post, I too am happy that shares are being bought.

The non executive director was only appointed at the start of last year. Happy to see shares being bought.

Hi all,

Directors buying. true, but are they buying for the SIPP's with the enormous personal tax advantage or for the good of the company? I know where I come down.

Let no one forget the ( I personally call) scandal of the millions of shares they have granted themselves over the years and the forward accounting declarations.

So I applauding loudly with only one HAND.
As ever regards,
VZ

I've been looking at the Holdings numbers of the Major Shareholders, some interesting omissions on the latest listing possibly due to the percentage increase in the number of shares in the market and or selling.

Once we break above 4/4.5p, clear skies, should see a strong breakout on decent volumes.
