Looks as though the ongoing seller is pressing on regardless. I'm sure many of the recent "sell" orders are buys below the mid price.

Toying with the idea of topping up while stocks last! Buying when there's a seller about is usually a winning tactic as the shares tend to be artificially depressed, then rebound.

How soon before we get a second carryover contract following successful delivery on a first contract this Autumn / Winter for a highly specialised supercar? Long term holders know who I am referring to. Fils

The other interesting aspect of this is the nature of the decision making process. It would appear they have a very proactive relationship with their furnace manufacturer. There is execution risk, but I am confident that much of it has been mitigated by building a strong and experienced team that has learned much in the construction and commissioning of the first cell.

There is still execution risk in the actual expansion, but everything the company has said/ done recently serves to increase confidence.Hopefully this will cause a push to previous highs.

FinnCap unchanged. DCF at 9% discount rate valuation 69p.

Valuation at 7% discount rate is 100p.

As the company derisks, the discount rate can only come down. One of the risks must have been on capex, that everything would take longer, and cost more, than expected.

But SCE keep moving the goal posts the other way: capacity from the plant goes up, capital cost goes down

It will certainly impact on their DCF valuations. Also clear they are telling the market their capacity concerns are falling away

165,000 disks p.a. by 2026 has been the ongoing expected sales. The news on optimising capacity and reducing capex would indicate that production capacity is on track to meet demand.

Double dose of good news.

New contract from OEM5, so the first major “carry over” contract.

Secondly, large savings by working with the furnace suppliers, so total capex required for full capacity falls from £50m to £40m. Should help the DCF. I wonder if the brokers will up their target prices today ?

So does that mean they expect 75m per annum turnover by 2024.
That seems years of what we thought before.

Welcome back aboard hiddendepths. I think you could well be right with regards picking out a sweet spot.
On another note John Rosier gave Surface Transforms a mention in last week's IC - referencing the July update. Sadly his article must have pre-dated the August contract award announcement because it wasn't mentioned - I am sure his next write up will give it some space! Fils

Hopefully the OEM10 announcement is the first of many for 2024 SOP, the slides on page 12 and 13 of the January presentation shows a prospective contract pipeline of 6 new models for 2024 and 2 carry over models from OEM5.

I was surprised that OEM10 didn't lead to a significant rerating. I've been watching for a few months, having been a holder a few years back but leaving due to impatience!

Decided to take the plunge today. I think the company is at the sweet spot right now as it seems to be achieving the critical mass where contract wins may well lead to more contract wins. 19th September should make for an interesting read.

Anyway, I'm a LTI and ain't going noplace!

Looks like we have been on a positive trend since mid-July. September next week. Business activity should increase. The possibility of another contract announcement gets increasingly likely. I am feeling very positive myself. Fils.
