ADVFN has over 2.75 million shares at 47p down as sells 3 large trades but it's always hard to tell with large trades. Could be an institutional buyer, deal done with the MM's. Either way we will find out soon.

Very good news - on 19th October SUR won a £7.6m contract from Newport City Homes for "Design & Installation of Automatic Fire Suppression Systems, Fire Alarms, & Associated Works":

This is lovely income through to March '22....

Thanks for both replies I’m a long term holder and will continue to be so, all very positive despite a disappointing share price.

One thing is for sure there NOT selling because it is a bad company with no future.

There could be a number of reasons, one stated by Igoe or offsetting tax liabilities or it may be just as simple as a strategy change to move cash to another sector.

IMO SUR as a lot of legs to move it forward regardless to any short term hiccup's.

I'm looking forward to receiving the increased dividend!

They might be forced sellers, because some clients have cashed in.

Looks like L@G are selling ? That's what is stopping these going past 60p at the moment.

Interested to see that eps from Edison and Digital Look are the same for the year just gone and pretty similar for the current one.
I texted Peter Smith for clarification but got no reply.

Here we go....a new note from Edison, with earnings upgrades:

- the forecast is increased to 4.7p EPS for the year just ended
- current year forecast at 5.1p EPS
- dividends at 0.5p and 0.7p respectively
- 30/9/20 net cash at £3m
- order book up to £375m at September from £324m in May
- sum of parts valuation raised to 67.5p, which seems conservative to me and more like a short-term target to be reviewed post-results

Interesting comment that "with a continued lockdown, the gas compliance business may positively surprise on margins again".

I thought the Buy tip might encourage a little more buying than 750 shares :o))

Hey ho. I bought a few more after the update, and I suspect there will be more tip action and coverage at some point given a P/E barely in double figures even before you strip out the cash pile.

Tipped tonight on Master Investor - should bring in some interest tomorrow:

"Sureserve Group – resilient trading update
By Mark Watson-Mitchell
06 October 2020

A resilient trading update at Sureserve indicates higher final profits to end-September, writes Mark Watson-Mitchell.

This morning’s post-year-end trading update from the £83m capitalised Sureserve Group (LON:SUR)points to increased profits yet again.

Furthermore, with the compliance and energy services group continuing to win more business, the new trading year should be even better.

Impressively, its order book is now £375m.

For the year to end-September 2020, I would now expect the company to see a small fall in revenues to around £195m (£212.1m), which would be totally understandable considering the impact that the lockdown had on the business.

However, I am looking for some £9.3m adjusted pre-tax profits (£8.3m), which is a healthy improvement. That would give earnings of around 4.5p per share.

For the year now underway, I believe that its greatly increased contract chasing team will help build the group’s order book even further.

Those new contracts generally have a three-year term, which provides a firming underbelly financially as the business progresses.

End-year net cash balances were around £3m, which together with a £25m revolving credit facility and a £5m overdraft, plus some HMRC VAT deferrals, gives the company the financial ability to make small bolt-on acquisitions in due course.

Give it a few more years of steady growth and I can foresee the business being valued at well over £150m, with revenues of £300m, its profits climbing to £20m and its shares trading at over 100p.

The shares have been as low as 27p over the last year and peaked last month at 57p.

They closed last night at 52p and, in my opinion, are moving up to trade around the 70p level, possibly before the annual results are published next January."

I will join you at the proactive seminar Igoe104.
In the meantime I will be contacting Peter Smith to say that for retail investors like me saying they will meet market expectations without specifying their understanding of market expectations is not very helpful. I would encourage others to do the same.
Digital look has eps of 4.71p for the year just finished and 5.26p for the current year but no idea of course is if these are the figures Peter Smith has in mind.

Interesting 4 large trade reported after the market closed all marked down as sells.

In total 3,142,331 shares just under 2% of the share capital but obviously not all sells.

MM's filling an order? It will be interesting to see what happens to the share price in the next 2/3 days.

My guess is touching 60p or over.

Agreed jojaken, extremely impressive cash improvement.

Shore Capital as the house broker are completely invisible as regards this stock - no mention of Shore anywhere in the media, now or barely even anywhere in the past, and no presence on the likes of Research Tree etc. No wonder SUR is so under the radar.

Hopefully Edison will issue one of their updates so at least there's some coverage.
