02/7/2017 19:31 | Decent write-up in SCSW this weekend. A summary of a recent meeting with TL with positive content. Should hopefully make for a good day tomorrow and get this back towards fair value. Still a great opportunity to buy-in at these cheap levels imo.DYOR and GL all. | tallprawn
27/6/2017 16:54 | Yes it might make some kind of sense. But can you imagine the headlines in the Mail or Mirror (dependent on the colour of the local council) got hold of the fact that a "shop-fitter" had been engaged to manage this vital safety work. I honestly don't think anyone commissioning this work could dare to step out from the norm. | kazoom
27/6/2017 15:00 | It might actually make sense kazoom. Plainly the experienced contractor had got blase', perhaps a bit too casual through familiarity, and possibly greedy too? A fresh set of eyes might take a more meticulous approach to the task, indeed I'd say there was a good case for bringing in fresh people who will take a serious approach to the safety of others. The scale of this unsafe cladding issue grows by the day. One thing for sure, the costs of supplying and fitting this type of exterior clad fire proof insulation are going to rise. | lefrene
27/6/2017 13:07 | What kind of lunatic would give such high profile, safety critical contracts to a lead contractor with no experience ?? No chance at all. | kazoom
27/6/2017 09:50 | slowly and surely | qs99
27/6/2017 09:49 | Sheep-Herder, There's always a lead contractor who essentially finance and manage whatever the work is, often buying the materials. That lead contractor then subs out the work to the smaller enterprises that have the experience and any required specialist tools. If you look into the Grenfell Tower history you will see that pattern. | lefrene
27/6/2017 08:30 | lefrene, if only business was that simple, everyone could cherry pick the work that they fancied without having to worry about having no experience. What are you on about! | sheep_herder
27/6/2017 08:25 | Nice 12k buy @ 3.33 to kick us off today....bodes well | gleach23
26/6/2017 13:23 | I don't see why they shouldn't look into it smallcap1? They are growing their buildings management offering, they use a range of sub contractors, no reason why they shouldn't quote unless they have good reasons not to do so. It's all about organising others to do the work to the correct specification, and having a reputation that inspires confidence that the job will be done properly. | lefrene
26/6/2017 12:09 | Cladding is a red herring here. It keeps getting mentioned for some reason but its just not the sort of business they do and not a reason to buy or think of buying the shares. | smallcapinvestor1
26/6/2017 11:22 | If you were a chartist you might say it has yet to break out of the down trend. No way of knowing if there was a forced seller, but the business does look very cheap on the published information. I'm wondering if STY will benefit from this crisis regarding tower blocks and other public buildings being clad with flammable insulation? It's beyond me why flammable insulation can actually be available for sale, but then I dare say all the relevant boxes were ticked, and no one was going to put their head above the parapet and point out the obvious folly. | lefrene
26/6/2017 10:51 | continuing rebound today IMO...should re-trace to £4+ now IMO as would appear it was a "forced" seller who took any price and MMs said "ta very much"!! DYOR and GLA | qs99 |
