probably both sides of the trade - buys and sells showing up. Looks like D.Bank may have sold their stake if so.

Should mean if this has been holding the stock back then it might be able to crack on now.

All imo/dyor etc.

If my maths is correct I make that 6.5% of the company's shares changing hands. 40M in issue and 2.7M traded.

Statement tomorrow?

Looks like a chunky bit of profit taking after such a good run. I prefer to look at directors buys though, noting that the chairwoman was buying shares recently at 317p. She also sounded quite bullish about the company's prospects. Mo

Extract from an interview with Chairman (or woman) of STV in the Scotsman today.

Turning her attention back to STV, Ford predicts an exciting summer next year, with the broadcaster due to launch its local Glasgow television service ahead of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Ford stepped down from the Olympic Park Legacy Company in 2012 after three years of chairing the organisation charged with ensuring that London's games left lasting benefits for those living in the east end of the UK's capital.

Through that previous role, she knows many of those currently working to deliver similar long-term benefits to Glasgow via the Commonwealth Games. However, she doesn't seem inclined to take on any official role, noting that the two are "quite different" in that Glasgow has far fewer games-specific structures in need of a useful afterlife.

However, it will undoubtedly be a boon for STV. "We have a great opportunity to make a real impact with the Glasgow station," she says with the smile of a woman who has seen it all before.

STV will benefit next year from 2 months worth of prime time TV leading up to and during the Commonwealth games followed by the Edinburgh Festival. Mo

Forecasts for 2013 and 2014

AA/Warc full year adspend forecasts have been upgraded from the July 2013 report and now stand at 3.3% growth for 2013 (+0.7pp) and 5.2% for 2014 (+0.3pp), with expenditure set to reach £17.7bn in 2013, and an all-time high of £18.7bn in 2014.

The forecasts have been revised to reflect the better than expected outlook for search and TV advertising spend, as well as the improved economic scenario for the UK next year.

Upgrade to consensus broker forecasts on diglook for STV.
Last week to Dec 2014 it was 34.84p, this week 35.98p.

Very interesting read from Edison. Fully diluted EPS next year 32.9p but the average PE ratio for the sector is 17. It's arguable that the ratio should be at least equal to that of UTV, the other provincial station. So on a forward PE of just 12.8 that gives a target share price of around 400p. Mo
