I've seen this a few times before and always an attempt to artificially walk the price down...

We shall see..

Another positive trading update - am amazed it is so quiet here. A consistent performer. Not had a positive impact on ITV today but STVG has set the benchmark ITV should at least match in its forthcoming trading update.

A negative tax rate has distorted these figures to the extent it is very hard to work out, with the other adjustments, what is going on.

Very positive announcement continuing the drip feed of good news. STVG operates under the radar, a great stock for a long-term investor but not one for trading because of the spread - which no doubt accounts for why this Board is always so quiet!

Hi Boozey, thank you for your insightful comment. I Would think that the spread does keep many people away from buying this stock. But I do think 400 is definitely achievable, I hope to top up on a pull back.

Hi Bonsai, today's trading update de-risked STVG and allows holders like us to enjoy the ride. And I think we will make good further progress throughout the year. I certainly hope to get to 400p.

On a relatively low market cap it has to be attractive to competitors especially given its attraction to advertisers versus other mechanisms given the growth announced today.

Also as the spread of this stock is large, it is never going to be for traders so it is a share for investors to tuck away and who are happy to believe in the long-term growth story. I averaged up again this morning.

Great update. STVG has been operating at a significant discount to its peers so today's announcement should help close the gap.

Shore Capital: STV is a ‘conviction buy’
Scottish broadcaster STV (STV) is trading at a ‘modest valuation’ despite the recovery in advertising and strong viewing figures, says Shore Capital.

Analyst Roddy Davidson retained his ‘buy’ recommendation on the stock following an update that despite acknowledging the challenges of Covid-19 also showed strong recovery.

‘We are very pleased to note the advertising recovery, strong viewing performance, and digital and production momentum,’ said Davidson.

‘We rate STV as a tightly managed, dynamic and entrepreneurial business with strong operational momentum and a clear and consistently executed strategy for accelerating growth.’

He added that the shares traded at 8.9 times 2020 earnings, a valuation he described as ‘very modest valuation’, and said he continued to rate STV as a ‘conviction buy’.
