I would be surprised if the stock doesn't rise on the back of this.

Even if profits were to remain flat for the next three years, the Enterprise value will contain less debt and more equity which should increase the share price over time.

Good to see the pension deficit reduce which was my main worry even with the artificially low yields on bonds in the current climate.

edit Pauly, our posts crossed, you state it more eloquently than me :-)

I like the results. PER is now 4, and debt falling rapidly. Pension deficit also reducing, as expected with Gilt yields rising (which means the present value of pension scheme liabilities will fall, as it's discounted at a higher rate), hint of a dividend in the not-too-distant future, 10yr licence secured, etc.

All looks good to me, at this valuation. Surely a PER of 6 is more appropriate, given the trajectory of debt & pension deficit, neither of which will be a problem in 2-3 years time.

Bought a few more first thing at 128p, as I see 200p as a realistic target with a 6-12 month view.

Cheers, Paul.

I think giving debt reduction priority over dividends is right, at £45m, it still represents just over 3 years profits. There is a hint though that this will be reviewed this year, '...This policy will be kept under review and an update will be given at our interim results'.

Wow, debt much lower than I expected, I was expecting a reduction to £48m :-)

I've been talking about debt falling from last June onwards, nice figures all round at first glance and Stv productions really doing well as well as the digital side.

No, rather the opposite, STVG would rise, it's days would be numbered in that case, it would certainly be in the spotlight.

Going it alone is fine, STVG productions is having a storming year IMHO, another Catchphrase commission below announced Friday.

If debt gets down anywhere near £48m, it will be a great result, we'll see Wednesday...

There would be none on the day to day business, STVG and UTV are affiliates of the Channel 3 Network and have access agreement to ITV content.

It does show the descrepancy in the price between STVG and ITV IMHO.

STV PRODUCTIONS COMMISSIONED TO MAKE JO BRAND'S GREAT WALL OF COMEDY

13 February 2013

UKTV's flagship comedy channel, Gold, has commissioned STV Productions to make an innovative new chat show, Jo Brand's Great Wall Of Comedy (5 x 30''), hosted by comedian Jo Brand.

Jo Brand's Great Wall Of Comedy, produced by STV Productions, will see award-winning host Jo Brand (Best Female TV Comic, British Comedy Awards 2012) joined by comedy genius Barry Cryer (The Morecambe and Wise Show, Kenny Everett Show, I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue) and BAFTA Award-winning actress Rebecca Front (The Thick of It, and Best Comedy Actress, British Comedy Awards) as they uncover the stories and secrets behind the nation's greatest comedy treasures.

Each week the trio will be joined by a host of star guests from the world of sitcom as they delve into the archives to reveal little known facts about our favourite comedy icons and shows.

UKTV's Commissioning Editor, Sarah Fraser commented, "STV have developed a great format and an original way of delving into the sitcom archive that forms the backbone of Gold. Between them, Jo, Barry and Rebecca have worked with the cream of British comedy talent. Our audiences will lap up the unusual clips, sitcom facts and anecdotes."

Steve North, General Manager, Gold, added, "Jo Brand's Great Wall Of Comedy is an innovative and bold format for Gold and embodies the type of original programming we want for the channel. We are sure the combination of comedy talent headed by Jo, mixed with the fun of a chat show and filled with eye opening anecdotes from a line-up of comedy stars, will make this a hit with viewers."

Jo Brand's Great Wall Of Comedy has been commissioned by UKTV's Commissioning Editor, Sarah Fraser, and ordered by Gold's General Manager, Steve North. Gary Chippington will executive produce and Jo Bunting will series produce for STV. Sarah Fraser will executive produce for Gold.
