Three years have passed, people and software have got cleverer...

so does anyone now know a way to get the contents of an ADVFN monitor into an Excel spreadsheet??

Many thanks in advance

Lionpres - Yes, once you install it, it never needs to downloaded again.. unless we do an upgrade to the client code, which happens extremely infrequently.

If I change to Installable streamer applet will it work faster?

James,

Non-installable streamer applet is the current selection.

Just give it time.. on a slow 56k connection it'll take more than 10 seconds to load.

lionpres - could you go to the following page and let me know which version you're currently using? Thanks.

Would you believe it! Ctl-Refresh worked this time.

Thanks.

Thanks JBM. I've already tried Ctl-Refresh to no avail.

Will have a look at FAQ if I can find them.

If in doubt, hold the control key down and press refresh. Streaming FAQ gives you all the rest of the details.

James,

I am trying to view the FTSE Grid.

At the bottom of the page I see Investor Training, ADVFN Bookshop etc adverts.

I am running IE 6.0.2600.0000IS

When I move the cursor into the grey area I see the following at the bottom of the IE screen:

Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: UpdateInt

Is there any text in the grey status bar at the bottom of the page?

Also, what type and version of browser are you running, and what page are you trying to look at?

Can any helpful souls advise what to do when all I get is a large grey box?

TIA.

Strange how monitor streaming never used to work for me either. Tried all the things that all the helpful souls on the BB and ADVFN staff suggested, all to no avail whatsoever.
For the last week or two, (not sure when it started), streaming has worked perfectly every time. I suppose some good fairy must have come and put right whatever it was that was wrong with my computer. I mean, it must have been something wrong my end, mustn't it !
