My understanding is the remaining Stratex board are not rushing to the idea of merging with Thani-Stratex despite the wishes of shareholders, they lost all resolutions by a show of hands and almost certainly lost 4 out of 5 resolutions by proxy votes at the General Meeting.

What will it take for these guys to act in the interests of shareholders, are they worried that part of the Thani-Stratex proposals are to cuts costs perhaps?

It is essential to keep the pressure on and I believe the Nomad, as well as the existing directors, should be contacted as part of that pressure.

They argue that the vote was close, so was the vote to retain Peter Addison, without him we would now have David Hall and Paul Foord in place and the company being steered towards calmer waters.

It is also time for a new BOD to confront Engelbrecht et al with respect to the fiduciary duty aspects of all this. Shareholders have been seriously damaged by the actions taken by the current/former directors - who with open eyes have obstructed against the clear interest of all shareholders. It would be good for the AIM market if there is a case established demonstrating that directors are not allowed to spend shareholders´money as recklessly as these persons have. The Loan provided to Crusader is amongst the worst seen in this respect. Is there no regulatory body that should intervene now?

Great news last evening! I have learnt a few indelible investing lessons over the last few weeks. Now the hard work starts. I dread to think how much of OUR cash has been squandered over the last few months in a failed campaign by desperate men.I hope Messrs Foord and Hall find a forum (Pro-Active?) to take retail investor shareholders through their plans, originally that was going to take place after last Wednesday's GM.Finally..... I suppose avoiding a reverse takeover scenario with TSR is going to be more challenging.

David Hall & Paul Fford were instrumental in leading us away from the abyss of Crusader and giving shareholders hope.

I agree with Romeike there is much work to do in cleaning up the Englebrecht mess, recovering disgraceful loans made to Crusader, and for a new Chairman and CEO to be appointed, working in the shareholders interests.

The "current" board had to concede defeat, they had nowhere to go, other than out the door, which could still happen!

Stratex has a fighting chance now and I imagine Crusader is screwed.

Priority now must be to turn around the company, bulk up assets and recover capital from Crusader.

Stratex "will take all appropriate steps to recover loans".
That will be interesting

Today's news is a result of considerable hard work by the officers of Thani Stratex and the many private investors who voted, attended the General Meeting, have made phone calls and sent emails to the remaining Stratex directors and the Nomad.

It is essential to keep the work rate up until we get what we want, namely, to appoint David Hall and Paul Foord onto the board of Stratex and allow the merger with Thani Stratex.

I spoke at length to David Hall at the GM and I am totally convinced the Thani merger is the way ahead. I would urge shareholders to press for the merger by way of contact with the board and the NOMAD.

We have been saved from hideous dilution, the issue of 2 billion shares for the merger, the inevitable placing that was to come a few months later, which would probably added another 700m shares, not forgetting the need to raise $80m-$100m to build a mine 12-18 months down the line.

I would think Stratex has around £4m-£5m cash right now including the £1.25m loan.

Massive thanks to everyone who contacted Perry, Chris and Philip Secrett to make their views known. It looks like it was all worth it.

Slightly concerned they say they will recover the loans 'when they become due' as I haven't been able to find out what that actually means. This is an important point give the financial situation at CAS.

STI illiquid and on a wide spread, 'twas ever thus! I have suspected all morning that a largish (1p?) Sell order is being worked. FWIW I was quoted 1.083 to Buy at 9.45am this morning. At least the shares you can buy this morning have voting rights - that seems like a novelty at present! Who wants those voting rights? Or is it simply betting on an share price bounce if/when the BoD get their cumuppence?
