I just did a dummy sell starting at £1000 and kept going up a grand a time mms wanted wait for it £200000! But on 210000 nt! They want these shares! I wonder why? News on its way and they know it! Can some one post this for me on lse thanks guys get in now while you can :)

The present position at Strategic Minerals shows how there has been good support at and just below the 200 day moving average at 0.25p over the past couple of months. Well I could have bought for 10% less this week. However like much of AIM this will either be worth zero or multi-bag, so 10% either way is not so significant. Either .26 or .29 is more than good value IMO for the news we have in prospect over the next few weeks, and I am happy to wait and see how this unfolds.

Did anyone make it to the AGM? It looks like JP and AB had a lot of coffee to drink on their own..

ADVFN seems to be dying on its feet, and not just this thread. TMF has become a lot quieter due to over-zealous moderation, ADVFN is probably cooling down for the opposite reason.

Did anyone go to the AGM? The Alan Broome and John Peters interviews brought out some interesting points and there is some good news flow to come.

I bought another 1m on Friday, SML seems to be at the bottom of its trading range and you can buy for just less than the placing price which seems to be an approximate low water level. The buying pressure on Friday seemed to be fairly good given what was happening with the market overall. So I think more upside risk than downside... now watch it tank haha.

As foretold months ago #SML is having a placing involving Optiva and we all know what that means.


So #SML overheads supposedly covered by Cobre,
$600,000 in the bank
but a placing still needed for exploration???

The RNS from #SML today heavily suggests that the co already has enough votes to issue another 800+m shares after the AGM. SML have probably done the usual ring round to get enough votes on the ‘huge potential’ of the following months to get the new share issue acceptance.

Last issue Cornhill 0.6p. This issue 0.3p with Optiva and Allenby. Next placing??

(ShareCast News) - Strategic Minerals, the multi-minerals production, exploration and development company, said it had completed the maiden drill at its Hanns Camp project in Australia with encouraging prospects for nickel and possibly platinum.The company added that it had also received the first assays from the programme relating to the weathered material drilled as part of the Reverse Circulation (RC) pre-collars. These included anomalous nickel and platinum intervals in holes HC001 and HC003.Strategic Minerals managing director John Peters said the lab results received were "very encouraging as they have identified traces of the targeted nickel sulphide as well as the possibility of a commercial platinum deposit"."The company now awaits the completion of the technical team's full review before informing the market on its assessment as to the likely nickel sulphide accumulations and its plans to further clarify the mineralisation of the tenements," Peters said.Initial analysis of the programme meant the company was confident that Hanns Camp was "positioned in the favourable geological setting for typical West Australian Yilgarn nickel sulphide deposits"."Initial analysis of the drilling results indicate that HC001 and HC003 show the greatest promise with both holes intercepting low levels of sulphides, including Pentlandite, in the diamond drilling section. Additionally, HC001 and HC003 show the most anomalous results within the RC tested weathered zone," the company said.Despite platinum not being the company's initial focus for Hanns Camp, the results were significant enough that they will be further investigated along with nickel, strategic said.The diamond drill core is in the process of being sampled, and will be submitted for analysis at Bureau Veritas laboratories in Perth. Results of the analysis are expected during July.Hanns Camp forms part the Laverton Project, of which Strategic Minerals recently secured an interest via its agreement to acquire up to 50% of Central Australian Rare Earths.It is located 250km north-east of the city of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, 12km north-east of the town of Laverton in the North-Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia.

I am not sure though why they are drilling 3 targets when more drills in Forrest may be more worthwhile. But then I am not a geologist...maybe it is all about proving the geological model and they can do that with one hole?

Nickel bearing sulphides intersected at Hanns Camp

The Board of Strategic Minerals PLC (AIM: SML; USOTC; SMCDY) is pleased to announce that the first drill hole, HC001, at its Hanns Camp project, has intersected nickel sulphides. The sulphides present include Pentlandite and exist in a low level disseminated form at approximately 286m downhole.

· Nickel sulphides located: Pentlandite intersected in first Hanns Camp drill hole
· XRF analysis (x-ray fluorescence): Characteristics consistent with major West Australian Yilgan nickel deposits
· Exploration concept validated: Extensive high-Mg (magnesium), cumulate texture ultramafics present
· Vectoring sulphide source: Additional holes and downhole electromagnetic survey to follow

XRF analysis has yielded anomalous nickel levels of 1.2%, which compare positively to the 0.2-0.3% background nickel of the host ultramafic unit. To further validate the exploration concept, the majority of the ultramafics intercepted have been high-Mg and composed of cumulate texture olivine. These are all key characteristics of komatiite lava flow environments, key hosts to many of the major West Australian Yilgarn nickel deposits.

This is the first drill hole of the maiden Hanns Camp programme and is testing the Forrest target. The drill hole is nearing completion and once it reaches the footwall of the ultramafic unit a downhole electromagnetic ("EM") survey will be conducted. This will further assist with better identifying any potential nickel sulphide accumulations, that these disseminated sulphides may relate to.

The project manager believes the drill hole deviated below the EM conductor target, and the planned downhole EM will help confirm this and more accurately pinpoint the conductor. Once established, this location may be revisited to drill an additional hole aimed at intercepting any further defined EM conductors.

Following completion of HC001, the drill rig will move onto the second target; Stirling, to complete the second drill hole of the programme.

All reported nickel values were determined from 'point' handheld XRF analysis using an Olympus Innov-X Spectrum Analyser. As a priority, the sulphide containing drill core will be sampled and submitted for laboratory analysis.

The samples have already been dispatched for analysis of the three RC (reverse circulation) pre-collars, from Forrest, Stirling and Canning. The analysis of the RC pre-collars will assist in identifying the likely location of the EM target especially when combined with the diamond drilling observations. Further, the downhole EM data will help to vector towards the source.

Hanns Camp forms part of the Laverton Project, of which Strategic Minerals recently secured an interest via its acquisition of up to a 50% of Central Australian Rare Earths Pty Ltd ("CARE"). Hanns Camp is located 250km north-east of the city of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, 12km north-east of the town of Laverton in the North-Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia. The prospect is easily accessible using existing tracks from Laverton, one of the main Goldfields towns.

"Both the Company and its partner in CARE, Rarus Limited, are excited by the drilling to date and look forward to working closely together in identifying what we hope will be a significant nickel sulphide find."
