LOL.

Hugepants - If you havn't read yet IIR results are delayed a week or so due to incorporating the new indian sub into the numbers. Also there is a small piece on equity research from Edison if you havn't seen it, albeit mostly talking about how well they are doing but it does give some info on the UK.

Per Google, there is a Simon Davis who is the Fulham Barclays branch manager and he is dating the cashier at NatWest !!!!

Re the recent share price increase, is this connected to Stockcube investing the cash pile more efficiently?

If the FD has taken the advice of the NatWest cashier and placed the £4m cash at bank allegedly currently sitting in a low interest cheque account into a high interest account, I would have expected there to have been an RNS announcement. Perhaps we will see an RNS announcement tomorrow.

78,000 shares today and someone purchased 25,000 yesterday. Thats more than a few!! Especially for SKC.
Why

Allegedly the cashier at the Natwest spotted the company when she advised the FD that they had a better high interest account for the dormant dosh.....She just bought a few shares as a reward and added a million to the market cap!!!

I guess the fear must be that the management will blow the cash on a poor acquisition .......or that the company will not sustain the profits

Ninety per cent cash backing in the bank to provide a 3% return is a rather stodgy way of running a business methinks.

Boredom I expect. It could be 7 months till the final results. Always a chance a tip between now and then could bump up the share price though. SKC will have generated at least another 1p of cash since end of June so cash now over 45p. Theres no way Im selling at 48p (or anywhere near it)!

"Regulatory changes that clarify the way we bill our services are now being implemented by the investment management industry which results in a greater opportunity for us as independent research providers."

Anyone explain what the statement above (from the interim results) means?

phil - I thought their acquisition comments a little premature, unless google come up with the goods. About time SKC put all that cash to good work though imo !

James ; thanks for that. I was vaguely aware of IIR and will read the AGM report tomorrow with interest.

As they're looking for acquisitions - SKC would make a rather good fit, don't you think? That £4 M cash in SKC would be a huge help for IIR.

Stranger things have happened..........

Phil - agree re post 40 as they reach a decent scale profits just flow straight through, and make it a strong hold for me. Another similar stock with an attractive operational gearing is IIR, not underpinned by cash as SKC [exactly the opposite] but beginning to maintain some momentum. [I hold both]

'Couple of small buys this morning and we're up 1p - obviously not much stock about, and the quick profit-takers seem to have sold and gone.

Looks solid for a further rise now.

Statement was positive about second half and with most of the dealers, brokers and investors back to work this week, I can see SKC getting more attention.

A lot further to go IMHO.
