15/7/2019 09:15 | Airport strikers vent fury as Stobart chief Warwick Brady is revealed to be in line for a £30m bonus | nige co
13/7/2019 06:59 | 150p Q3 target. | hodhasharon
12/7/2019 16:10 | What massive selling? | gaffer73
12/7/2019 14:45 | Why the massive selling | onjohn
11/7/2019 23:13 | This was 180p before the news about Woodford came out so there should be no reason why it can't return there. | gaffer73
11/7/2019 21:40 | Took Woodford ages to make the announcement. Looks to me like they sold 13percent of their 18percent stake. I bet it was to one of the banks who then offloaded to other investors including Cyrus. The others must have been new investors below the 3percent threshold.Good news is that Woodford returned a stake an didn't sell out completely like he has done elsewhere. I topped up on the news and will keep topping up if the share price keeps weakening. The share price was around 130 before the Woodford news, so I'm comfortable To keep buying in and around the current levels. I'll never be able to buy at he bottom but if you believe the share price will get back to 150, then there is still a decent return to be had from current levels. | lpavlou
11/7/2019 17:01 | So that should be the selling over, back to 150p | gaffer73
11/7/2019 16:57 | Woodford down to 5% | neilyb675
08/7/2019 11:25 | Minerve 2 - Could not agree with you more ! I am sick of reading about executives who's sole motivation is getting as much out of companies - owned by others - as they can. Both parties involved in Stobart attract much criticism. | fenners66
08/7/2019 09:32 | bluemango Brady should have the incentive to make the airport a valuable asset without the ridiculous bonus of £30m. Sensible people would know that the airport's value in the future will not be because of a £30m bonus. Just like the house builders sales were not because of the bonuses of their chief executives. With the house builders it was mainly HTB which delivered growth and with the airports it will be reliant on many other things. As a shareholder I would much rather see something like a £3m bonus and the rest invested in the business for a rainy day - because there will be many. It always amuses me how many investors just flush their equity down the drain without thinking whether the cause is worth the cost. In reality Brady is replaceable with a smorgasbord of others who are just as competent and that the £30m is 'our money'. Would you pay a tradesman 6 times his original quote if he does the job expected of him? Tinkler is right to be wishing to remove Brady and the remuneration committee and I am no fan of Tinkler. This is why I'm staying clear of this share, it attracts the wrong type of executives and investors. Buffett would certainly agree with me. | minerve 2
08/7/2019 09:17 | This closing paragraph in the "this is money" article caught my eye: 'Sources close to Stobart said it was 'ultimately irony' that Tinkler's website was called Save Stobart Group because they argue that Brady was trying to do that after Tinkler left the company with an unsustainable dividend policy and a balance sheet in 'disrepair'." Hard to disagree with this comment. The dividend policy was indeed unsustainable, hard to imagine why Tinkler or anyone else could suggest otherwise. And if Brady is lined up for a whopping bonus if the airport is sold at a significant premium, then some would say good luck to him, good he's got that massive incentive to make a success of it. And the decline in share price since Tinkler left is simply the market adjustment to a more sustainable dividend. | bluemango
07/7/2019 15:26 | Battle takes off to oust boss of airport group: Stobart's former chief blasts firm for 'grave failings' over £30m bonus •Andrew Tinkler has launched a campaign to oust the boss of Stobart •The dispute will come to a head at the annual meeting on July 23 | nige co
05/7/2019 22:17 | I still can't fathom the lack of RNSs given the huge volume earlier this week. Anyone have a reasonable explanation? | lpavlou
05/7/2019 22:16 | Chaps.these investors don't care what the share price will be in 5 years. They have bought in at 1.15 and would be more than happy to sell out at 1.75 in 3 months time. They are only looking at the short term. They might even do the opposite. Get the Bod to sell everything apart from the airline and airport operations. | lpavlou
05/7/2019 11:18 | Salchow, selling Southend airport and returning 200p per share to shareholders would be selling the airport far too cheaply, and short changing shareholders, IMHO. If the airports future growth targets are met, the potential valuation could be anything from £1.4bln to £2.1bln IF GROWTH TARGETS ARE REACHED. So the London Southend airport FUTURE valuation of between 355p and 544p…. LSA is only one part of Stobart Group. It looks like STOB has an asset that will grow over the next few years. That in my opinion makes Stobart a great investment opportunity. | nige co
05/7/2019 09:17 | Or to put it another way it would be bonkers for them to sell their main asset - unless there was someone who wanted to pay so much that 200p per share could be returned to the shareholders! | salchow
05/7/2019 08:37 | "Sounds like they may want to look at getting the board to offload the airport and airline business." lpavlou, I think that STOB wouldn't be interested in selling Southend airport just yet, I think that its far too early, there is a lot of growth over the next 5 year. In 5 years time the airport will be worth a lot more then than now. I'm happy to wait 5 years for this asset to mature. | nige co
04/7/2019 22:19 | Back above 150p, soon, Woodford’s stake has been bought up. | ny boy
04/7/2019 20:42 | Today's RNS only accounts for 21m shares. No announcement from Woodford the he's offloaded any shares. You normally get 2 working days to issue your RNS. Is Woodford playing games by making it look like he has offloaded knowing full well the share price would recover. | lpavlou
04/7/2019 20:39 | North Atlantic own 11% of Oryx and seem to invest in the same companies. | lpavlou
04/7/2019 20:31 | Done some research on Oryx. They target investing in small/medium companies with a strong business model where there may be specific factors that are preventing maximising shareholder value which could be achieved through an active shareholder agenda by the investment manager !!!!Sounds like they may want to look at getting the board to offload the airport and airline business. This could get interesting. | lpavlou
04/7/2019 17:40 | Minerva, I didn't mean anything by my comment mate. I just thought if you're not happy in STOB. I'm a new STOB shareholder and am happy to hold. Good luck in what you decide to do. | nige co |
