04/7/2019 14:03 | Minerve 2 - "It doesn't surprise me one minute that there was no RNS yet" Surely it is the buyer who first has to declare the share purchase and they are quite often slow off the mark. Anyhow they have done so now. It is reassuring for me that such a large batch of shares were bought at around 115p and that the present price is a 20% increase on what I paid very recently. What's not to like! | salchow
04/7/2019 13:27 | Looks like the broker has sold on to more than 1 party. Nice to have a new major shareholder on board. | lpavlou
04/7/2019 13:14 | "Nige Co 4 Jul '19 - 12:54 - 1490 of 1496 With respect Minerve, but why are you here when you have such a negative opinion of STOB?" Perhaps you are right, I should move along and channel my energy into other more deserving endeavours. | minerve 2
04/7/2019 13:00 | Bought a full weight. Cheap. | andycapp1
04/7/2019 12:58 | Half price share price since last summer,Woodford forced sale has dragged the share price down but you will get a rns soon showing an institution has scooped up his stake, excellent stuff, solid growth coming up imo Tucked mine away 122p, will add more if (STX) brings home the bacon in 16 trading days | ny boy

04/7/2019 12:32 | You can now catch a flight to enjoy a weekend in the Lakes as a brand new airport is opening in Cumbria today. Flights departing from Carlisle Lake District Airport will now be available, including destinations such as London and Northern Ireland. There will be four flights per week from Carlisle to London and five to Belfast and Dublin. Today marks the opening of the first commercial airport in the UK to launch in more than 14 years. Its first flight set off at 8am, run by Scottish airline Loganair, which headed to Dublin. There will be another flight to Belfast at 11.40am, and a third to London Southend at 2.20pm. Trips to London will take one hour and 25 minutes, Dublin will take one hour and 15 minutes and Belfast is just a short 50 minute flight. Loganair is using a Saab 340 aircraft which can hold just 34 passengers. Tourism officials said they were excited by the new opening which will boost the local area’s economy. Cumbria’s tourism industry is currently worth around £3 billion and it is set to grow further with the new airport by encouraging more US visitors to visit the area. It is the first commercial airport to have opened in the UK in 14 years. Gill Haigh, managing director of Cumbria Tourism, told the News & Star: ‘We know from working with the Irish markets, that there is a huge appetite for these new routes and there is a great opportunity to link up with transatlantic flights and the lucrative US market.’ Read more: | aishah
04/7/2019 12:24 | My point being if you don't like the company, move on to a company that you do like, there are other companies out there to invest in. | nige co
04/7/2019 12:01 | Because its a BB to discuss the merits/demerits of a the company and shares. | fenners66
04/7/2019 11:54 | With respect Minerve, but why are you here when you have such a negative opinion of STOB? | nige co
04/7/2019 11:38 | "I have no faith in Stobart, or those dubious individuals it seems to attract" Read the sentence again. | minerve 2
04/7/2019 11:14 | RNS has nothing to do with Stobart unless they have acquired the shares off Woodford for cancellation which is highly unlikely. We don't have the cash for that as its being invested in the business. | lpavlou
04/7/2019 08:27 | "heartbreaking" A bit of exaggeration me thinks. | minerve 2
04/7/2019 08:26 | It doesn't surprise me one minute that there was no RNS yet. I have no faith in Stobart, or those dubious individuals it seems to attract, in maintaining good corporate governance. | minerve 2
04/7/2019 08:11 | CARLISLE LAKE DISTRICT AIRPORT TO FINALLY REOPEN TODAY Speaking exclusively to The Independent, Kate Willard, director of partnership development for Stobart Group, said: “Last year was heartbreaking for passengers and for the team that had worked so hard to get it over the line.” But, she said, Thursday’s launch will definitely go ahead: “Everything is in tip-top order.” | aishah
04/7/2019 06:34 | I think the regulations say that you should report as soon as reasonably possible and within 2 days. The only odd thing is that we had 150m shares traded which is double Woodford share count, so have here been 2 transactions. Woodford to broker to investors. | lpavlou
03/7/2019 19:53 | Perhaps Woodford's sell order hasn't completed yet? However I would have expected at least a buyer's Holdings RNS or two | stur7672
03/7/2019 19:09 | How wrong was I. | lpavlou
03/7/2019 14:53 | Expect the RNS to be issued after the bell | lpavlou
03/7/2019 11:17 | Former Stobart boss Andrew Tinkler said he was putting his courtroom battle with the company behind him after a court refused him permission appeal today. Tinkler told City A.M.: “I’ve always said I was about to move on, I thought it was only right trying to go for the appeal, all I was trying to do was protect shareholder value over that period.” In February a judge ruled that Tinkler had made “serious” Tinkler had tried to oust the management of the Southend Airport-owner, accusing them of destroying shareholder value. He was supported by former star trader Neil Woodford in his bid to eject the company’s chair Iain Ferguson, to replace him with Edinburgh Woolen Mill boss Philip Day. However, Ferguson won a narrow victory in a shareholder vote at the company’s general meeting in July. The Court of Appeal today refused Tinkler permission to appeal against the February judgment. “it’s about moving on now,” Tinkler said today. He said he had no plans to sell his stake in the company and believed there was value in the business, despite a share price collapse over the last two years. “I am still a responsible shareholder, I will continue to make sure that value is preserved,” he said. “There is value in the business although the share price has taken a massive devaluation over the last two years, down some 65 per cent. “With a new chairman elect coming in, hopefully they can make changes there and create the value we set on in 2017.” In May, Stobart selected corporate turnaround specialist David Shearer as its new chairman as its moved to get its business back on track. So Woodford out and Tinkler supportive. Removes a big overhang imo. | aishah
03/7/2019 10:57 | He still has some discretion nevertheless. | minerve 2
03/7/2019 10:51 | Minerve, Woodford is a forced seller of STOB not by choice, with his fund in trouble. | nige co
03/7/2019 10:24 | Aishah, Southend airport IMHO is where the value is in STOB, this is jewel in the crown. Southend airport valuation is only going to go up over time, with strong growth in passenger numbers expected over the next 5 years. STOB will return to at least 300p within 3-5 years. JMO. | nige co
03/7/2019 09:16 | No one disputes the asset of Southend Airport. The questions is will growth meet projections? You've got to ship the customers in to get on the planes, that probably is just a bigger issue as selling the seats. | minerve 2 |
