08/2/2016 11:29 | thanks, alfred, very fair post indeed, but once again the 'performance related share awards' sub-text seems to be - "don't worry if the trigger level is not reached, we'll simply lower the bar to let you exceed it..." - Now just how many times have I observed 'that'?? (sorry - this IS the last post). will look back in in a year or so, but doubt my view will have changed much... | exel
08/2/2016 10:16 | With regard to the share options, most of these relate to the old share incentive plan which the board has said are not likely to result in the said shares vesting (if I have understood the situation correctly!)Otherwise | alfred
05/2/2016 14:50 | srichardson8 - thanks for confirming one of my major concerns here. this stock represents a material governance 'embarrassment' for all concerned. Senior pay - too high, option awards - too high, divs - unaffordable (other than via capital sales). Real EPS justifies none of the above. In short - this is untenable and (with all the alternative stocks out there..)avoidable! BTW - This is not a de-ramp, I won't be buying back in no matter how low this goes. Just a tad concerned that newbies don't get suckered in....I have been in the past, here and elsewhere. final post. | exel
05/2/2016 13:43 | I was looking at this again and quite keen until I received the annual report and concluded that the management share awards were quite absurd. The CEO Mr Tinkler has around 32mn shares and another 16mn options as I recall - the annual report went out with the recycling today. | srichardson8
28/1/2016 14:31 | prokartace, most haulage contracts have an adjuster built in to protect against fuel price rises, and quite likely that will also work in reverse, well if you want your contract to be renewed when it comes up. Container traffic is down which tells you that the economy is less active, less stuff being traded and moved around, except possibly more van traffic doing home deliveries of stuff bought on line. | lefrene
28/1/2016 14:12 | CEO sells more in a price dip. Hey ho! Maybe NW will buy them? | exel
28/1/2016 12:50 | - the only thing going through the roof here is exec remuneration, and ever more equity awards for the Board - notably AT. check out the packages they make for an amazing small EPS! High divs (Board-serving again although short-term shareholders do benefit too!) are unfunded by any trading profit, and are only met by 'drip drip' property sales. Not a sustainable plan in my view. Amazed at NW. He must know/see something I don't. Also - They no longer control the original Stobart business and presumably 'equity account' profits from that - but it's real profits, real cash in, divs in etc., that ultimately count to fund their big pay packages and unrealistic dividends. If I am missing something, please update... | exel
18/1/2016 08:55 | Shouldn't this be through the roof with oil prices? Or all their contracts built in with fuel price adjustments? | prokartace
18/12/2015 17:56 | weird closing price, watching close on Monday morning imvhpo | neilyb675
17/12/2015 16:21 | A trifle surprised that the Woodford involvement has not sparked some interest; but there again it seemed to be buried in with other news. Woodford comments last week had a detrimental effect on RR.. | vinceelliott
17/12/2015 11:46 | Neilyb675 - I wouldn't want to do that. I was studying technical analysis back in the late 60's and I wouldn't want to say it is all a waste of time. If a chart stops someone trying to catch a falling knife then that is useful. However, I think that if there were any useful information to be gained from a chart then it can be seen from the most basic line chart without making it over complicated. Even when everyone follows charts such as with currency dealing it is the fundamentals that overwhelm whatever the chart says - e.g. the Swiss bank letting the franc unexpectedly rise last year and causing traders huge losses. | salchow
17/12/2015 11:20 | I'm from the school that all info is worthy of a look. By all means use your filter option. | neilyb675
17/12/2015 10:25 | Neilyb675 - yes, excellent news re Woodford. The charting commments - I don't want to be rude but give me a break! | salchow

07/11/2015 13:30 | After further and much more detailed research, I have concluded that this one is not for me. H2 may be no better than flat (again). Would love to be proved wrong, but can't see why/where/how true profit performance will improve much - in the near term. They like to report EBITDA (always a bit of a worry), but in PAT terms this stock is making no money at all and is still paying a good dividend. Its execs and non-execs are arguably well over-paid, and its shareholders are being over-rewarded, all from a steady trickle of asset-sales while longer term operations in energy and air are slowly built. If this sounds a bit odd, that is because it is a bit odd. Property will be sold off (indefinitely, it seems?) to fund dividends. Not a great long-term plan. If they owned 100% of what they seek to control, and were paying themselves modestly and (most important) making a sold profit after tax (PAT), then I'd be in. Sadly, that all seems unlikely, so I'm out. | exel
22/10/2015 15:12 | I take these results to be a mix of good and less good; the good is largely still to come, with future prospects arguably remaining attractive (still some years out) while the less good (flat performance, higher net debt, general delays, Eurotunnel etc., unfunded dividend, hope theory abounding!) are very much 'on the page' right now! This 2nd half year will frankly be crucial.. | exel
22/10/2015 10:01 | Looks in line with the trading update. "We have continued to focus primarily on delivering value in our two high growth divisions." Aviation is currently not high growth ..presumably why there has been a change in top management at Aviation. | stevenlondon3
27/9/2015 09:28 | Eurotunnel issues must have hit the logistics arm during this past quarter or so. | exel
16/9/2015 15:01 | Is it only me who's wondering why the share price is weakening now that Diesel has become hugely cheaper | prokartace
