05/7/2012 18:17 | I think the chart has turned paleje - the market looks forward imo. Higher high. Good divi an good b/s imo CR | cockneyrebel
05/7/2012 16:08 | interesting post paleje, iv never thought of it like that | jon827
05/7/2012 16:05 | Standard Life notified a reduction today. I noticed some institutional selling last time the company was in buyback mode. I suppose it would be uncharitable to think buybacks might be organised sometimes to help cover institutional selling, I don't know enough about city ins and outs but its a coincidence I've noticed in other co's too. Doesn't alter my positive view on the company, just an observation. I suppose with the amount of city wrongdoing being exposed continually it would be relatively tame even if it were the case. | paleje
26/6/2012 09:25 | But it might get worse yet CR, I've given up guessing where the eurozone will end up but another bout of whitewash could send the good and the bad further down, and if inertia continues we'll just tread water in a range. In 07/08 we traded on PEs of 8 and 4 before recovering strongly. | paleje
25/6/2012 11:11 | Chart curving up here imo, looking cheap compared to MPI which has already turned up imo. fwd PE just 13 here too - historically low and zero net debt more or less. CR | cockneyrebel
11/6/2012 11:07 | Got you shanklin, yes I agree and its a bit higher than I'd like to add but they must think its a good use of cash, which they have plenty of, I don't think they're acquisitive, preferring organic growth, and setup costs for new offices are relatively low. Numis issued a buy note this morning with 380p target. It would be nice to grab some around 200 if it all goes wobbly after next weekend. | paleje
08/6/2012 10:33 | paleje Its the share buybacks they have been doing recently that I find a bit bizarre. The last one was at £2.71. Buying back at under £2.00 would be less silly. | shanklin
08/6/2012 10:18 | I think they're anticipating possible severe over selling during the coming summer shanklin, in which case the PE could drop dramatically, they dipped under 200p before xmas and could do again. Imo it would be a great buying opp. I'd like to see some of the spare cash disbursed by way of a special divi again (if it's prudent), they specifically ruled that in as a possibility earlier this year at the same time committing to progressive normal divi policy. | paleje
08/6/2012 09:16 | Fairly pointless buying their shares back when they're on a P/E of 16. You'd think they could find better uses for spare cash than this. | shanklin
08/6/2012 08:48 | Good update, non UK&I proportionately increasing, re weighting from financials to energy/commodities and pharma/biotech was a good move, underlying tone confident. Could be near term turbulence but they can withstand it. The previous RNS about buying their own shares during closed period said it all. | paleje
31/5/2012 21:54 | Absolutely Palje. Let all hell break loose and we can pick up some on the cheap!! | gswredland
31/5/2012 20:09 | I don't think the company could say in any stronger way that they think the market has got it wrong, all hell could be let loose during the period in question, they are either stupid or very confident, I think the latter:- 31 May 2012 SThree plc Close period repurchase programme SThree plc ("SThree" or the "Company") announces that the Company has entered into an irrevocable and non-discretionary arrangement with Investec, to repurchase on its behalf and within certain pre-set parameters, ordinary shares in SThree to be held in treasury, during the Company's close period which will end on the day prior to the announcement of the Company's Interim Results. This arrangement is in accordance with Chapter 12 of the UKLA Listing Rules and SThree's general authority to repurchase shares. 30/5/2012 08:45 | Credit Suisse downgraded STHR to 'underperform' this morning, tgt 345p. As you said GSW, interesting the markets take on sectors and individual companies, in this case not the sector but the company (they issued an 'outperform' for HAS), June update might illuminate although whatever they say the shadow of Europe will still be there. | paleje
24/5/2012 10:40 | Bounced off a long term support line yesterday: | cockneyrebel
24/5/2012 08:20 | Agreed Paleje but it is also interesting to see the markets take on things although it is acting irrationally with many shares! Good luck | gswredland
23/5/2012 15:11 | Nice previous support level to bounce off here, 5% yield. Trading update in June. imo CR | cockneyrebel
23/5/2012 07:34 | GSW, I think we're better hearing what the recruiters themselves say and do than looking to the market for guidance at the mo, it seems all over the place moving on short term relief, fear, panic, rumour, terribly fragile. Updates soon from several, will be interesting, noticed STHR bought again yesterday. Good luck. | paleje
22/5/2012 18:58 | Interesting that the recruiters apart from MPI have not joined in the rally today. | gswredland
19/5/2012 08:01 | Very beefy message in that RNS after hours yesterday. When they bought back last year, against Eurozone sentiment, they were spot on. | paleje
11/5/2012 07:35 | Interesting announcement this morning and thanks to Russell who's done a great job and best wishes for Gary taking up the reins next year, I liked the raising of Asia Pacific to main board level. Overall a very orderly progression. | paleje
03/5/2012 22:06 | STHR's man wins Recruiter of the Year, with 103 placements over 12 months at an average of nearly 9k per placement. Helps explain the cash pile. | paleje
02/5/2012 10:24 | Xd today and we've got more buys than sells so far, be nice if we finish the day blue. | paleje
12/4/2012 08:34 | HAS updated today, bullish and expecting FY to be at high end of estimates, Germany and Asia very strong, Australasia too catching the commodities and energy shortages. We're in all the same areas but without the nasty exposure to public sector which Hays suffers. | paleje
11/4/2012 11:37 | 4.5% yield compared to MPI's 1% paleje. Growing faster than MPI. £50m net cash - cheap imo as there needs only be the slightest pick up in the economy for these to see big earnings upgrades imo - and H2 is when economies will pick up imo. Of course the whole market felt the same until traders drove the US down 5% over the past weeks - sentiment changes fast. CR | cockneyrebel |
