23/8/2024 16:55 | Starting to perk up ahead of interim results in 3 weeks? I doubt H1 was great (weather affected again) but the conversion of clinker into cash should have started and I'm hoping the interims' outlook builds on the interim trading update's, which sounded quite optimistic: However, the market has recovered since the end of May... ... The Company lost market share in the first quarter as there was an increased focus on the central and northern Kazakhstan markets which are less active due to climatic conditions. However, due to improvements in production, the Company currently carries a significantly higher inventory than in 2023. The Company managed to increase sales volumes in early June and increased its market share to 17% at the end of H1 2024. Sale volumes in 2024 are expected to be above those of 2023. | aleman
22/8/2024 18:18 | No good news here, share price is appalling, | wilo101
22/8/2024 17:28 | Aleman Can you post a link to the cement figures when they are published? | danmart2
22/8/2024 16:13 | Still waiting for July's cement figures. Meanwhile the stockmarket keeps hitting new highs - up 27% YTD with currency down almost 5% v the $. Hopefully this means the economy's prospects are good and cement demand will return to its longer term growth trand, buffeted with little weather volatility. | aleman
14/8/2024 15:55 | Not the most exciting new addition to my portfolio :-0 Spread being kept wide too, on low volumes. | mister md
09/8/2024 19:10 | Added twice more today - have a nice holding now with lowest price paid 14p last week and just over 16p today. I like all the recent CEO purchases, though I do see he sold millions worth a few years back... | mister md
07/8/2024 11:48 | Mattjos You were made to look a fool with your constant backing of CNG but regarding the dollars potential to fall in value and the effect on STCM you are correct. But it’s not a certainty, lots still to play out. | danmart2
07/8/2024 11:37 | This recent level has been long term support for years & the CEO adding more shares has helped reinforce that. I'm sitting on my hands here and a/w Q3 sales & production figures which I believe will show a decent pick up in business. If/as/when the US$ gets the sort of kicking it warrants - perhaps that process will start after the USA elections - then likelihood the KZT finally strengthens and that would transform the reported figures | mattjos
07/8/2024 10:20 | A buy-back in subsidiaries would not get cash to the parent company to pay us a dividend. Remember, the cash is there and the company is generating profit. They just don't want to pay the taxes on transfers so are trying restructure their way around it. | aleman
07/8/2024 10:03 | It's a question of getting money from one jurisdiction to another - unless they did an off-market purchase and settled it in Kazakhstan or wherever. | zangdook
07/8/2024 09:55 | If they are struggling to pay a dividend , no reason why they can’t do a share buy back as a one off. | danmart2
07/8/2024 09:18 | Took a few more. Wonder if there will be a holdings reduction RNS from a major shareholder as the big CEO purchases shares must have come from somewhere ? | mister md
06/8/2024 21:09 | Not sure what to make of it, something doesn’t seem right but I can’t find any decent info nor is there any issues in Kazak or with the economy. Inflation is coming down, construction demand is steady. | danmart2
06/8/2024 10:44 | A show of confidence and that the shares are good value?? Two recent RNS's Director's Dealing Steppe Cement Limited announces that is has been notified that the family of the Company's Chief Executive Officer, Javier del Ser Pérez, has purchased 300,000 ordinary shares of nil par value each in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares"), at a price of 13.8125 pence per share, via Portola Group Limited. 02/8/2024 13:03 | I'd read the RNS more as a signal that, for instance, the plant hasn't burnt down and the company is trading normally. It's appreciated. | tigerbythetail
02/8/2024 12:44 | 125k shares when he has over 19 million already is surely just a token gesture with pocket money? | spawny100
02/8/2024 12:41 | Pleased to see that RNS. Should calm nerves & act as a clear buying signal. The market often has no thyme or reason. | plasybryn
02/8/2024 10:16 | The price is nuts. It's way below a solid and rising NAV and has made modest profits despite a couple of tougher years. It's all about lack of confidence in shareholder distributions but that goes for loads of other small caps that don't trade way below NAV. Unless something comes out of the woodwork - and that looks less likely with today's director share purchase - then the share price looks very harsh and should probably break this downtrend soon. | aleman
02/8/2024 10:09 | I know you should never try to catch a falling knife, but after having watched this share for years but never invested, I've started building a (small) position in the hope of shareprice recovery and a return to double-digit dividend yields. The decision supported by all of those CEO purchases - and by chance, another big one RNS'd this morning. GLA. | mister md

02/8/2024 02:17 | we are buying through our interests, inflation falling here, with interest rates and construction holding up, Heidelberg have 3 factories, Ust Kamenogorsk, Shymkent and Sheptpe and they are bullish, not selling Russia either where they also have 3 plants, Tula, SPO and Moscow. hxxps://www.heidelbe | wilo101
01/8/2024 18:07 | Hope the factory hasnt burnt down as i couldnt resist taking some more today.Either the doom merchants are right and i have blown my dough or i am right and bought some cheap stock.Time will tell but i am betting on another capital reduction this year.GLA | andydaf
01/8/2024 16:58 | Since start of this year any high volume selling days have actually been met with decent buying on same day ... looks like a somewhat disorderly change of hands going on in the background and that is encouraging some other smaller investors to also exit.I'm of the opinion that the conflict in Ukraine will end within the next 6-9 months (particularly if Trump wins USA election) & that will then spark a significant and prolonged reconstruction phase that will suck up cement from far & wide, coupled with a pretty good economic backdrop in Kazakhstan which itself has ambitious infrastructure plans. | mattjos
01/8/2024 16:52 | Am wondering if Claire's Barnes has had enough and throwing in the towel here | mattjos
01/8/2024 14:05 | I'm considering buying. But I'll wait and see for a few more days what comes to light. This is trading like the plant has burnt down. I don't think it has, but does anybody have any information otherwise? | tigerbythetail |
