Lots loading up the ISA new tax year I imagine. The yield/value sticks out like a sore thumb.

I am assuming they are getting them out early as 'Debt Free' would be a very positive statement to make.
Have continued to pick up more

Thats unusual cos I think they normally give the first quarter trading update in April then the results a month or two later!

Thanks for flagging this up Mattjos as I'd missed it - so only a short window remaining to add at this level for a double digit annualised divi yield

"The full results and audited accounts denominated in USD are expected to be published in April 2021. "

From Sept 2020 Interims:

"4. Financing

-- Interest expenses on bank debt were reduced to USD 0.41 million from USD 0.55 million in 2019

-- Steppe Cement recorded a net cash position of USD6.4 million compared to net debt of USD1.1 million as of 30 June 2019.

-- The borrowings of the Company as of 30 June 2020 were USD3.2 million (USD 2.3 million current and USD 0.9 million long term) while we carried a cash balance of USD 9.6 million. For comparison, on 30 June 2019 we had USD10.1 million in borrowings and USD 9 million in cash.

-- The USD loan outstanding to Halyk Bank for the purchase of the wagons and repayable monthly till November 2021 at 6.5% p.a. was subsequently repaid in August 2020 in advance.

-- As of 31 August 2020 after paying the dividend, the financial debt was the equivalent of USD 2 million (all denominated in KZT) and the cash was USD 5.7 million."

From 11th Jan 2021 Update:

"The full results and audited accounts denominated in USD are expected to be published in April 2021. "

This is circa 1-2 months earlier than in prior years.

Surely now debt free & with the headroom to announce a progressive dividend policy. A Quarterly 1.5p divi would be terrific but, if we see 2p/4p divi split for FY2021, i'd still be delighted

This is a handsome, debt-free, & well-run enterprise with significant free cash-flow.
Cement is very much an 'eat or be-eaten' industrial sector ….. avaricious eyes of one or more of the multi-national cement producers will not fail to spot this.

It will be interesting to see how various post-Covid stimulus activities affect cement demand in this art of the world.

They've just done the yield based on 3p dividend, instead of the 4p we had last year, or what I hope will be 5p+ this year!? Out of date research, but at least highlights the potential. Good find Mattjos.

"Steppe Cement (LSE: STCM) produces construction cement in Kazakhstan. The company’s market capitalisation is around £79m. The balance sheet is strong and City analysts expect a 33% rebound in earnings in 2021. The outcome will build on a record of rising earnings stretching back at least five years and only interrupted by the pandemic...…………….."

God knows, the company, plant, mines and production, balance sheet are all so much better now, main current problem is the unit price for cement and the KZT devalued from KZT150 to US$1 to KZT420 to US$1, today, and too many plants and too much competition, and this Region has never recovered since 2007/8, share-price wise.

I might have asked this before! Why was the share price so much higher before the financial crash in the late noughties? And why hasn't it recovered?

Thanks for answers - only need very short one!

There are less than 10 IG clients with positions here, and they have until 29 March to close unless they can't find the margin. The fall back started before IG changed their policy. Most of the AIM stocks I follow have fallen, including those that aren't being closed out of IG. It's just market swings imv.
