andydaf: Very gloomy posters on this board.Whats changed with steppe?they have never gone overboard with investor relations, its only this year that they have had a new website.Kazakhstan economy looks fine and lots of new projects next year that will require lots of cement.Interim divi is probably a tax issue,as wilo states the money the company is holding is earning interest. As far as i can see its business as usual.GLA with your investments

jeanesy: just got back in from being out. Should have gone with my gut instinct and sold out first thing! Clearly others did just that. Company needs to think how it treats its investors .

jeanesy: Thanks for the inf. Yes inflationary pressures are very real. Coming back to STCM , I am disappointed to report no response to my email. That is poor show from them. They clearly don't care about their investors. Has anyone else had a response ?

danmart2: One thing to bear in mind, the kazak property boom is set to slow down further especially as China’s own property boom built on bad debt is heading for a crash and Chinese investors are leveraged in the Kazak market which could also be over cooked (I’m not going to pretend to be an expert when I have only translated a few articles and spoken with a friend who is in the stan’s). Steppe may not be selling as much product over the next 5 years.

andydaf: Looking at my sipp i have a lot of shares mostly miners/brick and cement manufacturers/royalty companies that are 30%off their post covid highs.Seems that they all get battered at results not matter how good they are or the current price of the commodities.Traders i think are cashing in their winners like steppe and the rest of investors think armagadon is around the corner.I cant see whats changed with steppe or kazakh economy since the interims but what do i know GLA

mattjos: a company in the china property market is on the verge of collapse .. the Chinese property market is not on the verge of collapse. Two very different statements. I cant see how this much affects Steppe other than some investors running scared.

finctastic: Spawny we have crossed paths on a few stocks l, so stands to reason that we may have picked up on the same strange going ons. I'm not normally one for a conspiracy theory, but such ridiculous rug pulls on high income and value stocks happening with such regularity can't be ignored. I have pulled all stops on such stocks and am almost expecting a post earnings flash crash. Many investors live by patterns, I think we are starting to see one?

mattjos: Steppe has headroom to crank up production further from here if required and if the sales price justifies it. The bagging plant upgrades enable product to be sold in smaller batches for higher margin & the wagon fleet enable them to project their output outside their immediate locality to target profitable distant demand. Management are also very tight on cost controls. I believe we're entering a period of elevated and more profitable demand than has been the case for many, many prior years & management's stated policy is to return surplus cash to investors. I am persuade there is still at least a further 100% uplift in the mkt cap to be had in the next 12-18 months + the attendant dividend. We thankfully remain well-free of the herd and just quietly creeping higher & all the time the underlying asset value is far higher albeit masked by the exchange rates however. The final consideration is how this will react when, finally, the US$ loses its unjustified support. Am quite happy to sit tight and await the 'tortoise overtake the hares'. Miti - I assume you are still here and adopting your normal actions on this one?

wilo101: There was a special invite under Media/News on 23 June 2021, entitled: STCM: Annual General Meeting (2021) Online Participation ......... For any inquiries, please email to ir@steppecement.com which is a different place on the web-site from Investors, RNS's, as you will see, take a look Yesterday, only the Board were present and the top 5 investors, was not a closed-shop at all, everyone was welcome, Azmi, Watt and Barnes had many questions and much to say

mattjos: wilo, The company still has much to learn with regards IR …. if they wish investors to attend a virtual AGM, they should give clear & precise details as to how they can do so on the relevant RNS. This statement is simply not good enough if they really want investors to participate: "Steppe Cement Ltd wishes to inform that its Annual General Meeting ("AGM") will be held at Suite 10.1, 10(th) Floor, West Wing, Rohas Perkasa, 8 Jalan Perak, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Wednesday, 7 July 2021 at 4.00 p.m. The AGM shall be conducted online due to travelling restrictions." Most folk will read that and simply conclude it's a closed shop .. just as it was last year.
