01/10/2018 14:20 | Nick, if you read the last statement, the risks are made very clear. There was one line in particular that stuck out to me, which I highlighted at the time. Appreciate some may think I'm being overly cautious here, however judging by some of the posts, not sure people realise potential headwinds. First and foremost, SLA is now focussed on asset management, it's really not an insurance company any longer. | essentialinvestor
01/10/2018 13:50 | Are there any profit forecasts for the year ahead? The High Yield at this level sounds attractive but could be cut if earnings slip? | nick rubens

28/9/2018 13:54 | got a reply this is what they said Hi Steven – no it’s not finished, we’ve currently done about £100m of £175m, however, we have suspended the buyback in recognition of the fact that the Standard Life Aberdeen plc interim dividend was paid on 25 September and that the purchase of shares for the associated DRiP scheme would commence at that time. In order to avoid any ‘competition Best wishes Paul | wilksey1

28/9/2018 12:42 | Trading was temporarily suspended on the Italian banks so that's why financial shares dived. | scrwal
28/9/2018 12:27 | Think it's to do with the Italians re their budget, and insurance companies re RSA results causing most financials to drop again. The RSA results should have been anticipated by the market as Direct Line had already flagged the effects of the winter in their interims back in August. | scrwal

27/9/2018 23:58 | What % of shares can be sold via a placing ? Is there a different % applied to companies on Aim ? | fenners66
27/9/2018 18:27 | Buy backs, b shares etc, are arguably incidental. Either SLA stem AUM declines, otherwise the shares are expensive, rather than cheap. | essentialinvestor
27/9/2018 18:07 | I suppose a placing is made if the company only wants to raise a proportionately small sum compared to market value and it is easier to do it this way to a few larger holders who would be willing to pay up with no need for underwriting costs etc. In many ways a rights issue is done via the market as the rights are normally traded for a couple of weeks after they are issued before the holder stumps up for the balance to acquire the shares. The buy back tends to be via the market probably because of the size and institutional investors not wanting to sell. Technically some purchases would be off market if the company operated a purchase scheme where you bought shares from the company and it administered the scheme and you were given the option to sell at possibly an advantageous price | scrwal
27/9/2018 11:34 | Could anyone advise as to why, when companies sell shares, they almost always do it via rights/ placings i.e. off market, but when they buy, they almost always do it as a buyback, i.e via the market? Tia | pierre oreilly
