The results are no better or worse than expected. No point making out they are anything else.

What is good is that their internet sales are up 35% and they are no longer increasing their borrowing or cutting the price of their inventory. Looks to me like they are now heading for warmer waters! If anything, this is the time to get in.

Having said that, not much reaction from the market so far.

Well something's clearly lit the touchpaper today!

Perhaps there's been a presentation to main staff a week before the main results come out?

A lot of buying going on and the spread has really narrowed.

Still, for a company like SG with all its operations including coins, a market cap of just £12m seems laughable. Should be multiples of this.

It’s got to be an excellent recovery play especially once the lockdown ends and fairs and exhibitions restart. Added to that, the new shop looks excellent and is sure to attract a lot of customers once allowed to reopen. Also their internet trading is going through the roof and they’ve had some excellent auction results lately.
Can only hope next week’s results show clearly how things are evolving and changing for the better

SG is still the last share I would part with.Stamps are strong right now.

Unless I am very much mistaken, the half year update is due at the end of next week. Should make for some interesting reading.

Sikh the tech . You will get no where in this world following the BBC. Unless you are a Tax Guzzler ?

Finger on the pulse Jssdan.. That ex employee one still :-)

If you went back on all my posts back probably 3 or more years . I have been correct you wrong :+)
It will be interesting to see the results . I don't see anything setting the share price on fire ?
I am following the general market as a guide .
The Hornby commentator. Hornby has changed all of its pricing structure , they have ended discounting to the bigger customers , I believe

Sikh, absolutely agree with you. And I believe SG have been especially effective repositioning the company towards Indian sales / sales of India / Indian states which are all red hot currently

We’ll see tomorrow presumably......

as expected, during covid, people are spending more time on hobbies, which were perceived as outdated.

I suspect because of lock down people are obviously spending more time at home. Hornby has moved back into profit, and up 30%+ so they are benefiting from people taking up model trains.

The big question is, are more people collecting stamps?

It’s noticeable how many ex staff post increasingly bitter posts on here when the price rises. I genuinely think some of these ex staff just want the company to fail and can’t stand the thought or even the possibility that SG could survive and arise Phoenix like from its previous woes. Once things go back to normal next year and all the shows and exhibitions recommence, SGs profits should leap upwards

Results due tomorrow I believe.

Let’s hope that the internet sales / trading has increased again and that there’s a positive forward looking statement accompanying the results.

It would be nice to also see debt stabilising or maybe even falling a bit. Certainly overheads have now been cut to the bone so perhaps SG is now running at a profit?

Ok . Is Stanley going back down to the 1 odd p as Corona slaughters the Global Sock market this Winter . Possibly ?..
However if they put out a loss in the upcoming report ?. It could drop to that 0.75 p I always thought it could .
I don't think the shop will have had much of an impact so far , for obvious reasons .

Pre-results private briefing of the half year results to key staff perhaps?

Hope there will be a few more

About time!

Perhaps they are just about to announce they are trading in the black again? Or even a possible return to paying dividends?

Who knows, but the pace of the rise shows how quickly your fortune can change on this one.

Fingers and everything crossed, about time the wind changed on this one and we all got good news.

Stamp style!
Lot of people now collecting at home, must be good for sales.
Lockdowns cannot be bad for stamp collecting....

Creme , you should read your own comments! By your own comments they are now the only stamp shop on the Strand so will now be monopolising the hobby. This must be good for sales and turnover.

Personally I thought the new look shop was very smart and an improvement on the previous store.
