Annual results - where are they?

Was hoping for some further good news especially if their forward looking statement was a bit bullish.

Shame the Chancellor did not give everyone a £500 voucher to buy stamps with! Still, it looks to me like things are stabilising fast.

The Uttama auction looks especially interesting. A selection of excellent Indian States lots

They’ve also got a very interesting Canadian auction sale, with a range of early stamps on cover. Quality stuff here.

They're improving their web approach as well, imo this will be the making of their resurgence as soon as investment cash starts to flow again.

Must admit the new shop premises at 399 Strand looks impressive.

A bold move in the current environment but I reckon it will pay off very well for the company - puts them head and shoulders well beyond anyone else in this business.

gbh2 . The high value stamp market is dead in the Water. You are waffling :-)

G'morning Jasdan, There's no hurry the name alone is worth a fortune, I've had some pretty decent purchases this last six months and the higher value stamp market is in good fettle.

I note the manic depressive is still supporting the thread by keeping in the limelight :))

gbh, I'd agree - this was a very positive update. If anything, SG is out performing the retail / upmarket retail sector. Time for the shares to be re-rated - I cannot see them remaining at these low levels much longer.

Surprising there's no turnover so far today?

Results suggest a steadying position, the revamped Shop sounds good, looking forward to resuming normal business.

Superior, I'm fine. Just waiting like everyone else for the end of year figures etc. Good to see the shop open again at 399 Strand, but we need some positive comments from the Board now. Anecdotal reports say that people are doing their hobbies much more currently, and many folk have taken up stamp collecting in the lock down. Meanwhile I understand internet traffic at SG has rocketed, with many new users of SG's site. Should all be good stuff, but until we get the results and the accompanying forward looking statement it's not possible to take any further views.

Still, with a midprice at just 2.65p it is surely our turn soon to see enormous gains on this stock. It is certainly capable of it, and there is surely little way the current shareprice accurately values the whole company at just £11m? That includes Baldwins, the catalogue business, auctions, Murray Payne etc. Should be more like £50m+????

I see the Filtered Obsessive is still haunting the thread, must have suffered a huge loss to be sooooo obsessed with company's shares holders!

People have been increasingly taking up hobbies during this coronavirus period and this will continue to at least the end of the year since no vaccine will be available before then. This must be positive for SG and Baldwins and I imagine that internet traffic will have been far higher accordingly

Shop at 399 Strand to reopen on June 15th

I bet their internet trading has been better than expected during this period

Oh look Jasdan and Jasdan 2 (gbh2 ) back in action :-). You didn't move it very far with those minor purchases. You need to buy a lot more. As per the covid 19 report. Within the next few weeks , they have no money left to function. How's the whining Jasdan 2 ?

SG's recovery is well overdue. Been a demolition job for shareholders over the last few years and a miracle it is still trading. But now that all the legacy stuff is out of the way, and liabilities ringfenced, it should be a go-er. I believe they were just about to report a return to profitable trading before COVID 19 broke out, after many years of trading in the red.

I'm just using what's left from profits after reinvesting in more promising companies, I'd like SGI to do well for many reasons not least of which is a decent return :)

Got to be a pick up in these once the shop opens again at 399 Strand. Can't be far off as the renovation work is nearly done.

Not sure how they're going to hold the usual opening party though? Social distancing with a glass of Bucks Fizz?
