Not a single glimmer of hope in that RNS. Nothing about whether they are selling stamps profitably. Now a complicated and expensive splitting of the Interiors business.

And remember they paid £8.6m for Mallett

As usual with most companies they have the good news at the beginning and the
bad news at the end. £2.5M further write-downs in there amongst other things.

As coins and paper money disappear from all and is replaced entirely by electronic transfer of funds, the coins in particular (if rare) are most likely to become very collectable and increase in value considerably as they become something of a stone age relic imo.

So I am sure that SGI will before too long be announcing some remarkable prices for some of these rare coins - far better than the run of the mill stamp collection.

If it was theirs doubtless the directors have already blown the money by now. Their specialism is shareholder destruction on a grand scale.

Sorry, perhaps a silly question but - did SGI sell this half a million quid stamp on behalf of someone, or out of their stock to reduce debt? Am guessing it was owned by someone else?

I added a few over the past couple of days....
Hopefully, we won't have the same situation as last year, where we had to wait until Sept for the results..

Hopefully, we'll know soon.. Results and, especially outlook crucial..

I think they'd have posted an update in the first quarter if things had "significantly" improved so I'm not hopeful of this being one of my better punts for 2016/17 :(
