STANDARD LIFE EQUITY INCOME TRUST PLC

DECLARATION OF QUARTERLY DIVIDENDS

The Board announces that a dividend of 4.4 pence per Ordinary Share will be payable to shareholders on 16 March 2018. The dividend is payable to shareholders on the register on 23 February 2018.

In addition to the above, the Board's intention is that the second and third quarterly dividends will also each be 4.4 pence per Ordinary Share, payable in June and September respectively, and that the final dividend in January 2019, will be at least 5.5 pence per share.

Cumulatively, this is an increase from 17.1 pence in 2017, to a minimum of 18.7 pence for 2018, representing an uplift in the dividend for the year of 9.4% which the Board expects will be fully covered by current year earnings.

The dividend increase will be the eighteenth consecutive annual dividend increase. It represents an increase of more than double the rate of inflation experienced in 2017 and will mean that over the five years to 30 September 2018 the annualised increase in the dividend will be 6.9%.
