Looking at the chart, there may be a bounce in the 300 - 310 range.

I may dip my toe in the water sub 300 if it gets there.

Bought into these today at £3.30, can't see a reason for the drop (although I kind of know there must be one!). Lets see what happens.

PE (based on Dec 07 forecasts) of 10.7 looks incredibly demanding for a company that is looking to grow at 15-20% pa in the medium term. If they hit that in 07 and 08, the share price will have doubled in 18mths from now.

I know them as a (potential) customer - yes, I'm a semi-affluent baby boomer, and they have a good sales focus but not hard sell, and their offerings are good. Will probably sign up with them.

If anyone knows why share price so deflated, I would be interested to hear.

Looks like its a general up for insurance. Also raised to buy by Merrill
an ADVFN competitor:

Standard Life shares took on 11p at 349.75p, while Old Mutual added 2.9p at 178.2p, after Merrill raised its ratings on the pair to 'buy' from 'neutral' in a review of the UK insurance sector.

The broker also raised its stance for midcap peer St James' Place to 'buy' with its shares up 19.25p at 455.75p.

Sudden bounce today. News expected? or it is a reaction to another stock?

With stamp duty going up on shares from 0.1 to 0.3% per trade in china, I've decided to sell these shares for a small profit as they've been acting weak for a while and I think it's only a matter of time before we have a market correction across the board.

1st quarter's statement is reasonably positive, they are on pace to achieve 2007 targets, the statement is tinged by a slight negative > "but that such growth would not continue forever." < I suppose that's the same for all company's!

As long as the markets stay buoyant, they should do well, I hold my shares for now.

Yep Hectorp STJ is lagging the recent market run up, IMO I reckon it may be because it wants to see if the market stabilizes around these levels for a while, if it does I'd expect it to start climbing again.

The market has come down since my last prediction of 536, the market was approx 6307, unless the market climbs that prediction will not be reached, at 6016 the market is down some 4.6%, I'd take a bit more off the old price target because of the negative sentiment across the market, let's say approx 8% + = new price target of 490 or less if the market goes lower, more if it makes a dramatic come back.

My average price is 422, I'm holding mine.

Oh what a lonely furrow..

- share price just under 6-month support. Not too significant yet. This share has a small correcting habbit every couple of months (see 6 month chart) this one is the largest and co-incides with the downturn in the markets creating a larger swing than usual.

Pity the decent results announcement was on a day FTSE fell over 100 points, it still doesn't detract from the excellent future growth prospects.
I can only assume we will retest support, and then motor onwards.

Is this why we had a spike yesterday?

HBOS PLC has denied market rumours it is looking to buy out the remaining 40 pct stake of life insurer and wealth manager St James's Place PLC it does not already own.

'We have no plans to increase our stake in St James's Place,' a spokesman from the UK bank told AFX News. 'We are quite happy with our current shareholding.'

St James's Place last month reported new business sales from long-term savings for 2006 rose 58 pct to 349.1 mln stg in the year to Dec 31, 2006.
