Scsw;

The criteria "MA-price% 1day ago"
If you change the higher limit (-5) to a lower limit say –15, then that will catch the more volatile moves through the 20D M.A.

Sounds as though you must have a pretty good system worked out if your profits are reaching these kind of levels. I can't see it happening for me for a number of years, if at all, although if I had a larger stake to start with, ASC would have brought it much closer! I suspect that you are right to try and increase your float by as much as possible before going full time.

I can well imagine that you may make quite different reactions to stock movements if you know that they MUST make you money instead of 'playing' at them.

Edit - Just seen you suggestion; much appreciated, I'll load it up and see what stocks it picks out.

Scsw;

Try this combination

To specify your period of flat or slight upness use the "MA% change since 40 days ago" as the timescale of flatness i.e flat/slight up over the last 40 days

The other two criteria select the price moving up through the 20MA

Is this what you were trying to achieve?

Will be interesting to watch

Cheers

Ello,

I'm another Sharescope user and I find it a brilliant tool for charting.
I have been using the Sharescope Gold (used to be called plain old "end of day data") for about 4 years and can honestly say I have had no problems.
My stock picking draws upon a mixture of Technical analysis and fundamentals so Sharescope fits well.
I wouldn't like to be without it, although I must point out that I do have a real job and treat the stock market as a bit of a hobby, that being said my profits are close to my earnings and am seriously considering going for the real-time sharescope and maybe become a daytrader (well in the next 2-3 years when my float and ego are bigger), so if anyone could give me some feedback on the Sharescope Realtime with a view of becoming a daytrader I would be very grateful.

Cheers

Mr Vee

It is easy reading but I dont think it will assist you in creating filters for trends etc that you identify. Think sharescope should create a filter cd with 30 or so examples on. Then im sure people would be able adapt these to taylor their needs, maybe worth an email to them.

I will have a play tomorrow with your criteria & let you know if I get anywhere.

I tried months ago when I found that this signal seemed promising. I didn't really get anywhere, I couldn't really grasp the concept and as a result my attempts gave erratic results to say the least.

If the CD makes for easy reading, I don't mind paying that much. However, if it just blinds me with science, I'll be no better off than trying it out on the main system.

Interesting, I'll have a play & see if I can get anywhere with it, how have you been trying to create the filter to date, ie using which options ? How far have you got, ie. how close to what you were trying to achieve ?

I think that I need to find an expert(anorak) who wouldn't mind teling me the steps I need to set it up. I am only a very part time investor but find the whole 'game' quite fascinating.

In case you're interested I look for a sharp move up through the 20day MA after a flat or slightly rising trend. Like anything it doesn't always pan out but MOB, ASC, TOU, PCI - before the dry well :( show that it can be a strong indicator.

Hi scsw,

It only includes 3 sample filters, off the top off my head they were

50 ma crossing 200 day ma

Golden Cross

And one that finds shares that stick to the MA by a given percentage either side that you specify. I have been messing about with this one today trying to find shares that are trending like RAB at the moment.

Cheers.

Just came across this thread. I have had sharescope for some time but I am sure that I only scratch the surface of it's capabilities. I have tried in the past to set up a filter to look for the signal I use to select 'buys' but I couldn't really make any sense of how to do it.

Does the CD include loads of example filters or is it just a tutorial? I'm wary of downloading any freebies from the net due to the increasing number of trojans/worms etc.

Thanks in advance
