24/4/2018 10:04 | Numis identifies growth drivers at SSP Shares in Upper Crust owner SSP (SSPG) have fallen since its first quarter update but Numis believes there are both short- and long-term business drivers. Analyst Tim Barrett retained his ‘add’ recommendation and target price of 710p on the shares, which were trading at 649.5p yesterday. The shares have fallen 7% since the update in January, despite reporting a strong start to the year. Barrett said there were ‘two long-term earnings drivers: margin upside from labour efficiency and scope for market share gains in the US’ as well as ‘shorter term, reassuring recent passenger data’ that suggests a ‘strong first-half performance is likely’. He added that there was ‘substantial upside’ to the valuation ‘in which we have high conviction given management’s strong track record’. | philanderer

18/4/2018 10:13 | Would be interesting to know how much these "brands" get paid. SSPG Operating profit margins are slim, 6.8%, and there must be a performance element in any relationship. These costs aren't detailed in the accounts as far as I can see. The only allusion to them I am guessing is under "Overheads". Last year "Overheads" were 11.2% of gross revenue. So the brands' themselves must get much less. Still, I'm here for growth and they seem able to grow profitability too so scale and efficiency, hand in hand, must be the name of the game. Note: Crussh is not a profitable business having made an operating loss the last 2 years (70% of its costs were in Labour & Admin although the directors managed to earn a (relative) fortune!); so not in great shape to make a good deal! Its balance sheet looks worse, dependent on creditors. | sogoesit
18/4/2018 09:43 | Robust this am. | soundbuy
17/4/2018 20:51 | "Crussh Announces Partnership with SSP Group" Crussh, the Fit Food & Juice specialists have announced a franchise partnership with SSP, a leading operator of food and beverage brands in travel locations worldwide. The deal will see the London-born brand expand and enter transport hubs across the UK and Europe over coming years. The first site is due to open in May 2018 at London Paddington station, with a pipeline of additional outlets under discussion. The new sites will stay true to the Crussh Fit Food & Juice Bars classic menu, offering freshly made juices, smoothies, salads, wraps, hot food, and organic coffee. | philanderer
17/4/2018 09:23 | Hopefully we get the awaited break-out soon... The shares I bought on 13/04 converted properly so there was in fact no differentiation between shares on the ex-dividend date of 12/04 and thereafter. | sogoesit
