TD Direct Investing have been taken over by Interactive Investor. TD Direct advised me before the transfer that I had sell most of my Canadian listed miners, hence I have Transfered to Hargreaves Landsdown.

Interactive Investor are still keeping the TD Direct trading platform, but it is Interactive Investor who own it. I certainly do not want anything to do with Interact Investor hence I have transferrd PDQ.

Thanks... basically instructed by Barclays to sell my MARL shares, when I would have preferred taking part payment in SAND shares.

I use TD investing and would recommend for overseas shares.

Can anyone recommend a decent broker for TSX and/or NYSE shares? Thanks.

Dooby: ther's quite a lot of critical comment on Nolan Watson on the Seeking Alpha site, but quite a lot of support too. I concur that this is a bold move which tilts SSL's business model away from pure streaming for a while, and I'm a bit concerned that we are just as likely to be shat on by the Turks as MARL is. There's no guarantee that Nolan will be able to complete the streaming deal with Lydia on the spectacular terms that he wants, if at all. Political events in Turkey could overshadow everything, but if anyone can pull this off, I think Nolan can.

Meanwhile, listen to Eric Sprott on this weeks continuing shorting of gold and silver by the ususal suspects. It seems to me to be a reasonable time to top up.

Sandstorm/MARL presentation:

I have never seen a project with an IRR of over 100% and AISC of $400/oz.

I'm surprised this manoeuvre by Sandstorm hasn't drawn more fire here. The markets have made it very, very clear what they think.

I've only been here a couple of years but I feel slightly mugged. The whole point of investing in a streaming company is its safe predictability and aversion to operating risk. Nolan Watson has made large on these virtues for as long as anyone can remember, and has unquestionably done a first rate job of building royalty streams.

However, overnight, we are presented with a classic about turn on a sixpence. Hot Maden is a world-class asset, but IMO, country risk in a Turkey run by Erdogan for the next decade-plus looks pretty scary, despite Lidya's central involvement.

Am I alone here?

That's not to say it can't work out well. The sell-off looks overdone, and tomorrow could be a decent buying opportunity. What I object to is the fundamental, unsignalled change of business plan. Hardly surprising that there is a sell-off.

28.75p cash + (0.2573 x $3.63 x 0.7789)p in SSL shares
28.75p + 72.75p
=101.5p

Zedder,

How did you calculate that ?

Under the terms of the Combination, Mariana shareholders will receive 28.75 pence in cash and 0.2573 of a Sandstorm share for each one Mariana share held. The Combination values Mariana at approximately 110 pence per Mariana share based on the closing price of US$4.04 per Sandstorm Share on the NYSE MKT and a currency exchange rate of £0.7788 per USD, on April 25, 2017

So the MARL take out price down to £1.015 based on SSL price at the close yesterday. Hopefully SSL will recover some of that drop today.

Hi rrr,

I have been holding SLW & FNV for some time, so not new to streaming & royalties. But not averse to having a third 'iron' in that particular investment fire! I will have to see how I feel after a bit more DD.

Hi Chip, welcome to the world of streaming.
Holding both SSL and MARL already I have no complaints. Looking forward to the day when Sandstorm starts paying dividends like Silver Wheaton.

Hi guys!

I am also planning to take a close look at SAND because of their MARL T/O. Good to have the option available.

Pleased to see some well known tags posting here :-)

I've hopped across Shavian, thanks for info about Transact. I do have a Barclays International Trader account, so presume that any SSL shares I receive for my MARL holding could be held and traded in that.

What do you make of herbert's post?

herbert howells 26 Apr '17 - 10:04 - 2888 of 2888
Be careful. Sandstorm is going to be one of the shares sold down in the proposed re-organization of GDXJ in June. It's something to consider among other factors:

hxxp://themacrotourist.com/macro/the-real-message-from-the-gdxj-mess

Sounds like that will likely end up offsetting any benefit of SSL being added to a couple of composite indices as you point out in post 253.
