Fixed rate discounts will end up disappearing. This policy is only going to reward lazy people who can't be bothered to switch or fix.

But they need to invest and that the problem. Nothing will happen it's just electioneering. If the shares keep dropping pick them up bargain especially as they've been buying shares back for cancellation.

My prediction is it ends up being a cap for 'vulnerable' customers and costs sse about 100-150m a year which they should easily be able to recoup by cost cutting and scaling back investment.

Promising end to the week here ; there seems little further clarity with the Manifesto plans . Sit and hold now....

Next Monday should see the share price move one or the other as the Conservatives publish their manifesto. If they intend to 'punish' the energy companies with price caps then I would expect a fall, if the policy is not too punitive I'd expect a rise.

I recall the share price did not rise much after the unexpectedly high 2015 tory majority win , so does not suggest a bounce after a 2017 expected tory majority win....
