I am not sure about the timing - ST did say 35 days for the bidding period, if memory serves, and that seems to have been shortened considerably to 21 days, maybe because the BFAR faffed around. After that, there is the notice to proceed/contract paperwork to be signed etc, maybe two weeks? I can't make out the work load as described in the four annexes by year (all on the BFAR site) as they are too small, but the financial details seem to be payment of some

£700k 2018
£9.4 million 2019
£15.6 million 2020
£3.7 milion 2021

which all adds up to £29.4 million. How SRT can show that their largest contract to date is at least half of that will probably remain a mystery, unless they sign something pdq with Kuwait/Bahrain. I am sure they have that angle covered. The figures above are for BFAR's payments to SRT per calendar year and probably will not coincide with revenue recognition by SRT which would probably be earlier than that, as well as having a March year end. Finncap or SRT will no doubt be issuing guidance on that when the thing is signed.

All good stuff.

And I came across this the other day:

The only thing of note being this:

'The meeting reviewed coordination and cooperation in marine security and the advanced security capabilities achieved by the e-security siege project in the protection of borders, in addition to the efforts to develop the Coast Guard through equipping it with modern technology and providing the latest training opportunities.'

I think I called Brigadier Siyadi our second best salesman. Could be wrong.

Just got to Sicily yesterday, so have had to catch up.

A couple of things I thought interesting.

He gives quite a lot of detail about the VMS system running on AIS (as opposed to the more expensive CLS type system) with catch data etc being transmitted and later aggregated/audited with landing reports. Sounds quite an integrated system, intentionally put together (mainly for the EU) but using the nuts and bolts of AIS - probably a bit beyond the IMO boundaries of what is supposed to go on on the AIS channels. As is the whole concept of encrypted Class A, unless intended for dangerous waters or for non SOLAS vessels.

Secondly, the hiring. As we all know, they are tight with expenses. As we all know as well, they can jump the gun a bit when it comes to timing. Whichever, it is quite clear that they are hiring data specialists to fuse the information streams of RADAR, infrared etc onto the GeoVS backbone, both for future development as well as to fulfill up-and-coming contracts.

All told, very upbeat. I would suggest the end of the beginning and am looking forward to seeing the good times roll.

Edit: He couldn't resist 'the world's biggest' although this time qualified as a VMS. Also it seems that several projects are due to start in H2 as well as deliveries on their existing contracts, plural, although strictly they have only one of these, viz Kuwait. I imagine he includes the Philippine in existing.

Agreed. A very optimistic and positive comment.

"I look forward to doing another webcast in three month's time and you hearing from us in between". He's obviously very confident that one or more of the contracts is going to be signed very soon. Fingers crossed not only that he's right, but payments hit the company bank account in the forseeable future.

Company suspects that in 2nd half of financial year to March 31 2019 they will have projects running in three different continents. Let's hope the suspicion turns into firm reality. If so then we are off to the races (at last).

This is Simon at SRT.

The internet connection at the professional studio (Unique Media) we use for the web casts was unexpectedly interrupted seconds before the start of my web cast, requiring the team to switch to their backup connection. This caused the first part of my cast not to go out live. My apologies for this.

As usual the full unedited web cast will be up on our web site during the course of today. In the mean time, I am happy to answer any immediate questions.

Regards

Simon
