21/3/2012 15:10 | praipus -still here? been a nice ride.. | edwardt
02/3/2012 18:19 | MF Global springs to mind. | praipus
02/3/2012 17:59 | i am a good boy and happy to pay my sdrt and besides don't trust the counterpary risk of using a bank | edwardt
27/2/2012 17:26 | Hmm I'm not sure about the CFD route you end up with masses of gearing should something go wrong. Have a look at an ENG chart. They dropped hugely just before liquidation. Any PI CFD's at that time would have made a loss or worse. Why can'nt you do CFD's? | praipus
27/2/2012 16:56 | buying by a cfd appears a clever route - wish i could do that! | edwardt
24/2/2012 11:24 | Weiss buying more with a CFD! Now holding 25.9% | praipus
14/2/2012 17:59 | firm hold on sr. if the opportunity set of 5% is not to be sniffed at in my view. i for one am not that good at finding things that will get me that kind of head start on the market.... also over 2 to 3 months not a bad irr! i think the vote is somewhat irrelevant as sr are proposing wind up or roll over option. | edwardt
14/2/2012 16:53 | lol, thanks Skyship. I dont hold any MTH though. The share holders there are too passive for me. As you can see been watching for some time but not for me at the moment. The discount is a good feature but what could close the gap and when? I like CG Asset Management who are on the register. Edit and have held CGT so have held MTH on a look through basis. | praipus
14/2/2012 16:48 | Hah! Duly embarrassed....clear | skyship
14/2/2012 16:38 | Praipus - might I perhaps suggest MTH. The highly respected Trojan Fund (see below) have just upped their stake - RNS today. Rambutan, who knows a thing or two about the Private Equity world, suggests MTH to be a good value play - see his comments on the APEF thread. Could be your sort of stock. Certainly one for me, building on recent success in the PE sector. | skyship
14/2/2012 14:21 | As a buyer at todays price you could wait the 100 days or so for the AGM "continuation vote" and if there is a cash option and NAV were to stay where it is now pick up 5.44% no exit dealing costs or spread. Of course something could go wrong, NAV go south or company shareholders vote for continuation. | praipus
14/2/2012 13:51 | As an entirely dispassionate non-holder I would say - could go higher, could go lower; and you wouldn't buy SR. purely as a play on the Euro. No, right to move on surely... | skyship
14/2/2012 12:27 | Maybe so, could the NAV go higher still? FX effect? | praipus
14/2/2012 12:03 | Surely nothing left in this now - certainly not for any newbie; and existing holders might well do better elsewhere. A selection on the PE thread. Best buys APEF & LMS perhaps. | skyship
14/2/2012 11:36 | Thanks dendria interesting article. Weiss seems to be in the press a bit at the moment it almost makes me suspicous after years of near silence. I wonder who commissioned it. | praipus
13/2/2012 19:40 | Item on Citywire re. Weiss increase to 19.5%: | dendria
13/2/2012 15:14 | Yeildsearch posted this on the WAM thread: Yieldsearch - 13 Feb'12 - 09:10 - 633 of 636 | praipus
10/2/2012 16:17 | i had the nav in slightly higher so discount not so good as i thought - also off today, hence i think i will refrain from adding. | edwardt
10/2/2012 16:02 | Weiss in for more now holding 19.5% and the NAV up! | praipus
10/2/2012 10:05 | Henderson providing the stock, wonder who's picking it up | praipus
09/2/2012 13:26 | Lumpy this morning too another 10% or so. | praipus
09/2/2012 08:24 | probably a long only broker taking it off the buy list and an arb picking up a free lunch of 6% would be my guess. | edwardt
08/2/2012 20:18 | That's about 10% of the shares in issue RNS to follow I suspect. | praipus
08/2/2012 17:14 | now there's some turnover 2.4m shares changing hands. | edwardt
08/2/2012 17:14 | now there's some turnover 2.4m shares changing hands. | edwardt |
