Jarrow - there were a few exceptionals that are too easy to sum up as simple exchange rates. He actually took a bet on the currency which lost him/us about 40m, he took out some kind of option pre brexit. On top of that his big expansion in the US means he has created instant dollar earnings which can be used to buy stock and ship it to Europe helping to hedge the dollar, if you get my meaning. Next year profits should be over 200m imo (calm down David naughty lad) due to this alone, not to mention further increases in revenue if the new store format is out performing.

NorticCan't wait, so you sold 25,000 at a loss of £1,500 and sold another 25,000 at 330.65, makes a profit of £1,412, so excluding fees that's still a loss of £88. Okay it's a lot better than it was but hardly much capital return over how long?, 18 months / 2 years?.Will take on board all the advice - sentiment, revenue........got it.Mongops wish I hadn't closed this morning, could have doubled my profit, oh well, always leave something for the next chap.

The push over 330 could be down to the AGM going well. Brokers pouring out with buy orders. I wonder if he gave a profits prediction for conning year, now he is hedging it should be possible.

Terminated"you would have been dishing it out if it had went down."Like you're not I suppose. Today was my deadline here one way or another, have made my money and had my fun over the past few months. If it had tanked I would not have posted, you don't know me at all. Only kept posting because of you're initial attacks because I posted up an opposing view - which may be wrong, but then again it may not be, time will tell.Mongo

market valuation 1.74B = 1740 million

The sportswear giant said the 58.7% decline in pre-tax profits to £113M was a result of failure to 'hedge against' the drop in the value of the pound following the Brexit vot - so profits 113M millions

returns a 'not so great' P/E of 15.40 but perhaps expectations for the future are better - am i missing something?

DD The one thing I learnt as a trader was "sentiment" and that's what moves markets. I told you that some time ago as well as being different and not following the crowd.

It might be early days but as far as trading goes in SPD we're going to see a lot more volatility in the share price now that MA can't buy anymore stock unless he ups the level ? Gone are the days of narrow spreads and them trading in a narrow range.

The problem with people live davy boy is they read a book about things like EPS and NAV and they go about using it on every stock thinking the market is logical, when it's mostly emotional. He says things like it doesn't matter if revenue increases if profits fall, but the market sees this a growing business with underlying problems that can be improved. If it was so easy to predict the market using numbers the market would be controlled by computers.Take it on the chin mate, you would have been dishing it out if it had went down. Apology accept, we've all shown naivety in life, it's how we deal with it that makes the man.
