ps undervalued assets - Are you for real? You're trying to be smart and having a pop because I asked this board to confirm if the share buyback was 5% eps enhancing, whether it's 5% or 10% the underlying eps has fallen 68% ffs!.

Nortic old boy............you need 325 to break even after how long is it you've been holding here?.Unnavailable- still struggling to read, was not stopped out, made the 20 pips I wanted within three minutes........maybe longer than it takes you to pop your cork but it will do me.Useless - Please pm me.Terminated - You were okay but then joined the ramping bully boy gang.Still stick to my views here, one swallow does not a summer make. Taking on and announcing the CFO has done the share price a major favour today. Time will tell but wouldn't get too excited.Cheerio chaps, have made what I needed too over the past few months trading this (still not a long term investment IMO), so on to pastures new. Do hope I come across you guys again as it's been so much fun, loves ya xxxxx. Mongo

The biggest day of davids life and he's stopped out. Almost feel sorry for.... Na, I don't actually.

Up over 7% on profits down 60%. Obvious potential is obvious, obviously. Inflation down, retail sales up and when the currency issue is taken out of the equation, well, David will become a buyer. Easy to see trading updates/results from these levels reporting profits up 20,30,40%.

I was always waiting until vindication before filtering that absolute cretin.
That day is here. Adios, David.

According to euroclear 8% of stock is out on loan.

That is alot of stock to be bought back

As a proportion of the free float it is huge seeing as MA owns 60% of this (actually how much does he own currently ? anyone have a handle on the latest figures?)

There is short closing going on

If he cancels the shares at the AGM today, what would that add to the price I wonder.

Sophia - he seems to be acquiring a lot of former BHS properties, if you look at his property spend over the last year it was quite modest giving he has bought a lot for the new megastore format. It's a buyers market at the minute.

Hi, David. Remind me again how you worked out that the buyback will increase EPS by 5%.

Just for kicks, obviously.

If D/A were like previous year or just a little more, EPS would be in the region of 250p.

I also have the feeling that they are kitchen sinking on the accounting side.

At the same time, there is much more transparency and desire to please stakeholders and the general public doing the "right" things (staff representatives, etc).

Stock is probably undervalued or even strongly undervalued if the international side, which make a negative 20M Ebitda, starts to become b/e or profitable.

One issue which I have is that I do not clearly understand their property campaign.
I understand selective acquisitions, like Oxford street. But they want to acquire 75-150 flagship stores in 5 years.
Any comments on this?

I guess most money could be made by looking at the last part of the report. Apparently SPD now controls 37% of The Finish Line FINL in the US. That stock is said to be very heavily shorted. I guess it is only a matter of time before we see a rocket like short squeze there. Incredible how they have been able to buy so much without pumping the price.

I imagine that Institutions with intuition may well have come to the conclusion that the short opportunity here has run it's course..."It is not the beginning of the end but perhaps the end of the beginning"

If I was the intuition(s) that lent out stock to the hedge funds I'd now be asking for my stock back which they are entitled to do unless there's been a rule change .

I think the last pages on results day are always the most telling ...

See 'Post balance sheet events' for an idea of what is really going on with this business.

Acquisitive, ambitious and with liquidity enough to buy back own stock and acquire stakes in other businesses both at home and abroad (esp US). No wonder stock is surging.

I'm really surprised net debt was only increased by 90m after acquisitions, share buy backs and other stock purchases, and new store openings.
