Sale of site of former Spire Manchester Hospital

Spire Healthcare Group plc (LSE: SPI), a leading UK independent hospital group, is pleased to confirm the sale of the site of its former hospital at Whalley Range, Manchester, to The Council of the City of Manchester for a consideration of GBP4.25 million (GBP4.05 million after costs).
The proceeds from sale will be used to reduce net debt. The impact of the profit on disposal will be treated as an exceptional item and will not impact EBITDA.
The Company opened its new, purpose-built Spire Manchester Hospital in Didsbury in January 2017 following the successful transition from the former hospital at Whalley Range.
