19/10/2023 08:46 | SPX has derated so the p/e is less than when I bought in 2015. The underlying business is strong, though, and my total return still beat a world tracker last time I checked recently. | adrunkenmarcus
19/10/2023 08:38 | Shore Capital now rates this as a 'sell' | r9505571
14/7/2023 09:44 | (Sharecast News) - UBS upgraded Spirax-Sarco Engineering on Friday to 'buy' from 'neutral' and lifted the price target to 12,400p from 11,560p, citing an attractive entry point. "We now see the shares as presenting an attractive entry point, having de-risked our FY23e estimates and updated our views on the drivers of growth ahead of IP from next year," it said. | philanderer
05/10/2022 17:49 | @ gustavfenk I wondered whether Durex had invented some kind of willy warmer for ultra high critical occasions in the Antarctic, or perhaps just in my uninsulated mansion during winter. Anyway I recall that the rubber johnnies were made by ? SSL International, who I think were delisted a few years ago. | rech
28/9/2022 09:48 | gustav Different outfit. this one looks like a promising long term acquisition. red | redartbmud
28/9/2022 09:43 | "Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc, the thermal energy management and niche pumping specialist, announces that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Durex International Corporation (Durex), a privately-owned US based specialist in custom electric thermal solutions for ultra-high criticality industrial equipment."Durex? I thought that they made rubber johnnies. | gustavfenk
28/7/2022 16:55 | Looking a bit better here. Long may it continue. Suet | suetballs
23/5/2022 10:43 | I hope there is a reasonable outcome for the workers. Any company does need to keep an eye on the bottom line, though, and ensure operations are economically viable. | adrunkenmarcus
23/5/2022 10:39 | Re loss making facility in France - now consulting with the French trade unions. Good luck with that - fortunately only 61 colleagues involved. Suet | suetballs
06/5/2022 08:16 | Results next week Wednesday I think | w1lbur01
11/3/2022 10:50 | I wonder how much business they have in Russia in which they also operate ? | fuji99
10/3/2022 16:50 | I have about 9% of my dividend growth portfolio and about 15% of my SIPP in Spirax. Highly exposed but well worth it! | adrunkenmarcus
10/3/2022 10:36 | Agreed. Q&A on webcast well worth listening to. Top end spec Rolls Royce of a business. | redartbmud
10/3/2022 10:30 | The results were very strong and the dividend cover is at the top end of the range despite a 15% increase! If only all my holdings were like Spirax. | adrunkenmarcus
10/3/2022 09:12 | Bought in here today quality company results very good. Brought a few less than I normally do so room for manoeuvre | w1lbur01
10/1/2022 16:43 | Lots of my growthier stocks like Spirax Sarco, Renishaw, Rotork, Diploma and Kainos have been hard hit today. I suspect it's to do with money going to 'value'. (Not that I agree with that in the long run!) | adrunkenmarcus
10/1/2022 15:43 | Well, today's price action is something that it doesn't do too often! I assume there's been a big broker downgrade somewhere given I can't see news? | kirkie001
10/1/2022 12:59 | Sorry chaps - looks like my purchase was the kiss of death! Suet | suetballs
20/12/2021 16:31 | Was hoping to buy in a bit cheaper but had a few today. Suet | suetballs
18/11/2021 09:15 | Agreed. My view, reaction was due to potential cost/margin pressures but, reading between the lines on guidance, I think strength of business will overcome this. It is also highly rated, but don't think unreasonably so on a PEG basis, so did some accumulating on, hopefully, short term relative weakness. | sogoesit
17/11/2021 14:13 | I suspect a chunk of the fall was due to the 4% in adverse currency movements. I'm not going to hold currency against Spirax! They are running the business well, results since the first half results are better than expected and they are managing cost pressures. Temporary pressure on margins to support future investment which will lead to growth and margin gains is simply a sign of a well-run, long term focused company. | adrunkenmarcus
17/11/2021 13:19 | Bought on the fall today. Short-term headwinds but optimistic for 2022. Niche player with huge addressable market. The fall is just letting off steam after a strong run. I expect some of today's current 5.65% fall to mitigate when the mist of today's update rises. | mach100
15/11/2021 18:32 | It hit at least 17225p at one point today. I hadn't realised a trading update was tomorrow! Perhaps 'Mr. Market' is optimistic. | adrunkenmarcus |
