Why can't it also mean - they're long and don't want to buy stock?
Big spreads mean they're not confident on striking the right price and are protecting themselves.

Buying seems a little leaky even though its not really on much volume. Sterling weakness should really have put us higher in any event.

You are right nico ..also the us market is nearly back to highs, and the pound will be under pressure for the time being.
