Just read GL's comment in the RNS, it says it all. He's clearly very worried about not this but what it means. We were never going to win this 36m usd claim, we're fighting the Moroccan govt and are nothing to them, other than a western O&G company that's not got a single monetised molecule out of the licences we have for over 12yrs.....what a track record!

Just take a look at what the Russians have done in terms of taking back huge oil and gas projects from western companies. We live in new scary times, nothing is impossible.

It's really not about the 2.25m usd liability now (ruling), it's about the remaining 34m usd. That would wipe this company out, not the lng phase 1 project or the phase 2, they'll survive, but it will wipe out sound and it's equity holders. There are no funds for this, so licences go back to the state in recompense and life goes on for all except sou and it's shareholders. The lack of faith again and judgement of sou management is what's killing this company now, and most haven't realised the enormity of todays RNS in terms of its criticality to SOU.

As usual people are misreading the rns I suspect. All other parts of the 36m usd tax claim is still open and live. This doesn't limit that liability, in fact it makes it far more real and likely. This would wipe out existing SHs. This is about something very fundamental and important. It feels like a way to put sou out of business and to grab the licences back. I suspect we'll be at well under 0.7p in days. Worst RNS out of sound possibly ever as imho it lays bare the Moroccan state intentions, and we can't win that fight.

@B33661...I guess this will be a real slow burner (no pun intended!) I will hang in there and top up some more of it continues to drop and the story doesn't change. There is a road to production, we are sadly going to get milked along the way.

Incredible how all interest in this share has completely evaporated. No interest equals falling sp, that's more true for sou than any other share I've followed. Amazing how investors have seem to have had it with GL's latest raid of the piggy bank. What a shame.

Feeling very very confident with sou.
Its stronger than before and getting stronger.
I feel a bid is forth coming for sou..the world needs gas.wait till the winter..People will be hunting gas down.

Ok I read through the rns again.....all I see here is the word "debt" financing. No mention of capital raise via stock.....maybe I missed something, I am sure you l point it out.Pursuant to the Agreement, the Arranger has been mandated, and provided with exclusivity by the Company for a period of eight months, to arrange a long-term senior debt facility with a term of no more than 12 years of up to 2.250 billion Moroccan dirhams (approximately US$250 million) for the partial financing of the currently estimated 3.000 billion Moroccan dirhams (approximately US$330 million) phase 2 development cost of the Tendrara Production Concession (the "Financing").During the term of exclusivity, the parties will seek to negotiate binding terms for the Financing within 120 days of entry of the Agreement. The Agreement envisages that any Financing arranged pursuant to the Agreement may be provided directly and/or partially underwritten directly by the Arranger or by third parties.
