I was in a similar boat. Being wanting to get some exposure to their line of work. Just wish I had bought a bit more than I did this morning.

Sorry to those who were holding yesterday and were down 30%. sophos has been on my watchlist for 6 months but the share price was way above my entry point. So I had no hesitation in putting a limit order in overnight at 326. Having already done my fundamental analysis it did not make sense to see the extent of the bailout and herd mentality on a lower earning forecast. The price is now probably being supported by those who had a re-think overnight and decided to jump back in.

Just wait for cyber security to be the main news story again, back to mid 500s or more. new products coming out so FY update (May?) might be more interesting than this one. Buy now or regret it I think.

Need to sort their investor relations out but underlying business and prospects look sound. Must be in play now for industry/PE interest. Analysts’ target share price 425-750p. Am in for more at these levels.

In the July trading update they claimed that billings growth in H2 would be back to mid teens. Today they stated "We now expect a modest improvement in constant currency billings growth in H2 FY19 compared to the first half". Billings growth was 6% in H1 so they have lowered their revised forecast which the market do not like.

This is the problem. It is not the numbers but the surge last year in the wake of the attacks...it is a case of unrealistic expectations.

"Sophos said on Wednesday it sees modest improvement in constant currency billable growth in the second half of the year, as it struggles to match the "dramatic acceleration in demand" it had last year for cybersecurity products in the backdrop of several high-profile, global ransomware attacks."

Surely no need for BoD to comment on share price. Fall is hardly unexplained and clearly due to market taking a view on the results. Things may change in days ahead but clearly not as good as some hoped.

Don't think you'll see that Borg. The way it's gone today might be a few days before we see some recovery, just my opinion, I know anything can happen with this share.At least there has been some good buying today.
